What river are you gonna be on? In august you might hit the very tail end of the sockeye run but more than likely you'd be catching cohos by then. Plus the trout that will go after just about anything resembling flesh or eggs at that time of the year lol

I put together this leader a few minutes ago. It consists of 16' 20lb, 4' 15lb, 18" Cortland indicator, 4' 5x to first fly, 2' 5x to second fly. Hopefully it will work better for working pocket water than a standard leader.

Stopped to have lunch at one of my field sites today. Been trying to get adjusted to the new job and haven't had time to fish yet. Going to see if I can't get my license tomorrow and start hitting up some of the calmer creeks/streams. Water is crazy high/fast right now in most places.

Nice. Where are you headed? Pine, cedar...?

Looks like I'm going to get out tomorrow on some private water in the Poconos.

Not quite that far, a little closer to Sinnemahoning. Camping either along Medix run in Moshannan State forest or along Hicks Run in Elk State Forest.

Gonna hammer a few little blue lines Ive been eyeballing on my maps one day then maybe head towards Kettle / Cross Fork the other day.

Thanks! I'm trying to piece together two 7WT outfits (per the advice of one of the guys who's going as he's been multiple times...he actually has 4 7WT's he brings. Each rigged differently). I'm not buying four so I settled on two.

Looking for sales/bragains where I can as I have plenty of time. He stressed good reels!

About to head out to the creek. Getting a late start...turned my alarm off when it went off this morning. Oops.

Scored on a gently used Ross Essence FC (their mid-range line I believe & no longer made) 7WT from a local classified publication. $49!!! :woot:
