Mounted up my Warn 10S winch remote. Goal was to be clean and easily detachable.

    Copied from my build thread.

Had a fun filled day working on the new truck, with a few more days worth of work ahead of me.

    Here's all I did today:

    • Used an angle grinder with flap disc to clean up the tow hook (thanks again DrFunker!!!) and then made a mini paint booth and painted it red.
      • I was very thankful DrFunker included his bolts because mine were in there pretty good. Took me 15 minutes to get them out with a breaker bar. Probably going to invest in an air compressor and impact wrench tomorrow.

    • Installed TRD Shift knob and attempted to fold back the boot for a cleaner look. This didn't work out so well, and this is the best I could do. It's just electrical tape, but I'm going to Hoem Depot tomorrow and going to see if there's a black rubber sleeve I can put over it.

    • Changed the air filter (it was pretty bad)
    • Used half a can of Sea Foam in the gas tank and the other half in the vacuum line coming off the brake/clutch master cylinder. Blew out a bunch of white smoke and seems to run a little better now.
    • Added cabin air filter (never had one)
    • Changed the oil and switched to synthetic. The old filter was on there tight as SHIT. Had to hammer a screwdriver through to get enough leverage. Replaced with an OEM.

    • Mounted the RAM system. This was also a BITCH. Everything has such tight tolerances it made lining it up a PITA. Rock solid once mounted though. Was getting too frustrated with the other side so I'll tackle that later.

    • While I had the radio apart I added the Blue Tooth module to the GTA car kit. Tested it on the way to Chipotle and it worked flawlessly.

I think that was it for today. Here's my list for tomorrow.
    • Change fluid in both diffs, transfer case and transmission and replace with Redline MT 90.
    • BHLM (picked up a can of Krylon Fusion for $0.98 from Advanced Auto Parts) and have Morimoto Glue to reseal it.
    • Change spark plugs (excited to see if it's ever been done before)

And there's even more planned for tomorrow! Monday I'll tackle the rack and pinion. That's what I really want the impact for.

Fresh OEM plugs. The old ones were kind of worn. Good thing is that they all came out in 1 piece and seemed evenly worn.

I love that description. I may need to get that!! That's some serious shit right there and will cost about the same as a compressor and pneumatic impact wrench but with better performance.

Nice clean work. Any benefit of these when running an empty bed most of the time?

I work in the ag business and that's what the shop boys are buying for their side jobs. We used it on my leafs and it was sweet. 1/2 drive.

I wish my local Home Depot had it in stock. I'm impatient and like things asap! Plus I get a 10% discount too which is nice.

Not that I'm aware of to be honest. I've dealt with a lot of trucks with bed spread over the years and with me considering putting my rack back on or a cap I just kinda thought it'd be something fun to build. Thanks for the compliment

My blacked out Anzo third break light showed up in the mail today, from Amazon. Was busy all day so didn't get a chance to put it on.

And trying to put my oldest to bed right now too.

On another note... The more I see peeps post pics of their trailer plug relocation, the more I'm thinking about doing the same. Gotta look into the options for that. I'm all about "giving" money to fellow TW members, and I'm pretty sure at least one of those kits is made by a member.

Went wheeling with a bunch of new faces for a charity 4x4 event sponsored by a bunch of local shops, won some door prizes, got about 5 hours of trail time in, and hopefully the photographer that was in attendance got some sweet pics of the taco... Though the real star of the show was obviously the FJ40 Landcruiser!
