4x4 lettering missing?

So, I have a 2016 TRD Sport and looking at the tail gate I have some chrome lettering on the right side that shows V6, the left side has nothing......seems bare. My 2010 and 2015 had chrome 4x4 letters, and I now notice that the 2017's have the lettering.....if you look at the 2016 TACOMA brochure, it clearly shows 2016 TRD Sports and off roads with the chrome 4x4 lettering on the left side of the tail gate.....does anyone have a 2016 with the lettering, or did the factory miss it?

 

Did u buy it used? Previous owner May have removed it, my 16 and my 17 both had it, I removed them both

 

mine didn't have anything.

Just the V6 one which has been removed.
are you by any chance in Canada? I haven't seen any canadian ones with it, as mine doesn't have it and all the ones I've seen on the road haven't had it either.

Maybe its just canadian ones dont get it?
Have to remember they often use US models in the brochures.

Either way if you're really that concerned about having a stupid plastic badge that says 4x4 to let everyone on the road know you have a 4x4, you could probably buy them from the dealer for $10-20 I'd imagine.

I personally hated the badges so I removed the tacoma ones on the doors and the v6 one.

 

I have a '17 TRD OR 4x4 and also have no 4x4 badge on the tailgate, just the v6 badge. I guess Toyota Corp figured the bedside sticker was enough.

 

Stupid question...is your truck a 4x4?

 

'17 TRD Sport here with just the V6 on the right side of the tailgate.

So you got me curious about my new 2017 DCSBOR 4x4. Damm if it ain't missing the "4X4" chrome badge on the left side of the tailgate! Sumbitch!

 

My 17 OR only has a V6 badge. I believe the only ones that have the "4x4" badge are the limited and sr trims? I could be wrong though.

I know for 2016, the TRD 4X4 sticker was all you got for the OR and Sport, the chrome 4X4 badge was only on the non TRD 4X4s; SR, SR5 and Limited.

 

Could be. My 16 SR5 has it.

 

The funny thing is that the SR5 trim gets the 4x4 and V6 tailgate badge.
Meh, I probably would have taken it off anyway if mine came with it.
