2017 Mud Flaps

I thought this group buy was over?

 

Same here. Just discovered the Rokblokz three days ago and thought I missed the train on the GB. If there's any info on still getting in on this somehow, would be very interested. If not, oh well I guess - I'll have to twiddle my thumbs and hope another GB comes along...

 

I went with Rallyarmor mudflaps for my Taco, they went on easily and cost about half the Plasticolors for basically the same thing.

Id love to see install pics! Im about to put rally armor on my 2016 and want to know if you used existing bolts and added washers or how exactly you installed. I see theres one more install point that ill drill in, but besides that any tips?

These are 11.5 W x 19 L. I can't imagine having anything smaller, the ones on Amazon linked earlier can't give full coverage, especially if you're looking at bigger tires.

Again, they get GREAT coverage.

They're a bit flexible, but still rigid enough to hold shape, so I think they'll hold up well enough offroad. I have a 5-day old infant and a 3-year old, so even though I have BFG KO2s and a Fox stage 3 kit in the garage, it'll be months until I can actually install them and offroad. Someone else will have to be the guinea pig there and report back.

You have to drill the holes yourself to get them in the right place, which is a bit difficult and took about an hour for me to do well. I propped the flaps up on a can to get a consistent height, then aligned them to perfectly vertical with a level on the outside edge, taped them in place, and pushed HARD against where the hex heads were, leaving an indent. Drill a tiny hole to verify, and if alignment is good, drill the right size hole.

I felt like the factory points were insufficient, so I drilled out holes in the wheel well for pop rivets and added them.

The rear there's no real great place to mount one on the wheel well inner, so I just added one to the top.

That's fantastic! Thank you for all the info! I ordered mine yesterday and cant wait to get them on. I really appreciate all the photos and tips! Ill just need to order the rivits. I did find toyotas oem part for the rivits 90467-07188.

 

Any update on how they are holding up? I’ll be installing mine tonight thanks to your guide.

 

Front still look great. I took off the rears to install a HC bumper, they looked good before I removed them.

 

The factory mud flaps do not fit on 2017 Tacoma without the flare fenders and are plastic, not rubber.

 

Hey there - I was just in the process of putting the Plasticolors on my rig. On the back, I just used the three factory fasteners (without any spacers); I guess I'll find out if they distort/warp or not. In the front, I was stumped, because the two obvious fasteners will definitely not be enough. What is your pictured third bolt connected to?

It’s bolted to a small aluminum L bracket that bolted or zip tied into a hole on the underside of the cab mount. It worked well.

 

Thanks, this prompted me to look underneath. There's an upward-facing bolt that holds the fender trim in place. I used some license plate scrap to make a little bracket and attached the flap to it with the self-tapping screws that were in the package. A lot of eyeballing and fiddling but easy, and looks pretty secure.
