I paid 38,453 and financed with 5.1 apr and put 10k down for my 2017 TRD OR DCSB with JBL, tonneau cover, all weather mats, predator steps bed mats. And I couldn't be happier went thru the Costco auto program didn't haggle or deal with pushy sales people. My guy helped me out and threw a bunch of stuff in the deal. He showed me the numbers and the truck I got was $800 below invoice

True, but it's important for people to know that the dealer add-ons are still listed as invoice/MSRP. Most buy don't see or understand the differences.

Costco pricing is NOT below invoice. Ever. It's usually around $1,500 below MSRP.

Also, you should go to your local credit union and try to refinance. With decent credit, you should be below 3.5% on a 5 year loan.

Toyo finance for me was .1% higher than local credit union. Local credit union was quite a bit below local banks...1% less from memory.

In most states , i would say all but who knows in New York :). But dealers are required to post all after market on a seperate sticker 2"s away minimum from original MSRP. The sticker cannot resemble the MSRP.
Let's face it folks " dealers" are like anyone else they are in business to make a profit :)! Which is fair. What is also fair is to go into dealerships with as much information as possible to get the very best deal possible !
Aftermarket parts / accessories are marked up so the dealer can make more profit.
It is almost always best to get your mods after your truck somewhere else then the Dealership as in most cases there overhead is far more then a private shop!
Of course some just want there truck done now or want to finance it with there truck:(. IMO that's a very bad idea ...just my .02 lol !

You didn't claim to get $5k+ off of msrp though. You claimed to get $3,800 off sticker which is about $1,500 below invoice. Its still kind of unbelievable but possible. Inferno can be a weird color for some dealerships and if its over 40-60 days in stock they'll probably get nervous and cheap sell it which if your deal is as you say it was that's probably what happened.

I work for a dealer group that has Toyota, I was their #1 salesman for 3 years straight at their actual Toyota store and even I paid a few hundred more than you claimed ($1,200 below invoice on my ordered 2017 inferno Edit: and that price was considered an "attaboy bonus" for selling them so many Toyotas)

If someone says they got $5k off msrp they're either lying or leaving out important details of the deal. That would be $2,500 below invoice and even accounting for holdback that's still a straight $1,800 loss for any dealer that does that, I don't think any dealer would lose $1,800 to move a Tacoma, in all my years with Toyota I NEVER once saw that. Although I did see plenty of people THINK they got that deal when in reality the #s were moved around and the dealer made it up on UA or backend products.

It's also the third purchase from the same salesman. He got good trade-in deals on the prior two purchases. Not great, but good.

Yea, I've seen a few deals here that were pretty unbelievable.

You need to refinance to a lower rate.

5% does seem a little on the high side. I had a score in the high 700s and still got hit with a 3.9% for 60 months with Toyota Motor Credit. It would have been 5% if it was for 72 months.
I know some dealerships in the southeast region like GA and NC advertising 1.9% for 60 months and 2.9% for 72 months like this dealership. I believe a 720+ credit score is required for tier 1+.
    http://www.flowtoyotaofstatesville....a-Tacoma-bcfd55a10a0e0ae70fea12d238ae5b91.htm
But my dealership is advertising 4% in my area. It's weird how much interest rates can vary from region to region.
