Ah, figured it was a race bike/KTM/etc but thought maybe you were the even more extreme version of @AR15xAR10 and did oil changes on a normal bike every other ride

With filters there is always a tradeoff between high flow and good filtration. You can't have both. So the stainless washable/reusable filters provide great flow but don't filter as well as the standard paper element filters. People who change their oil constantly might want to use a stainless mesh filter. Anyone using their oil longer (full interval), I'd suggest a standard filter. Besides I always thought the flow was determined by the oil pump and the bypass valve pressures, so I always went with the standard filters. One way or another, you'll get oil flow, the only question is if it is filtered or not (bypass).

Ya, sorry I should've specified. I am not so strict on a 450. But just for a 250F, I try to be strict, since it is all track time and the bike revs a lot. 450 I go like 2-3 rides and do the oil. And new filter every other oil change, just because the bike isn't really revving like the 250 does.

Have anything to back that up? Cause I everything I read said they should be comparable. A standard filter doesn't have a uniform filter media where larger and smaller particles can pass through. Its more of an average micron rate.

Stainless are a uniform rate and don't need to have bypass valves since they are free flowing at start up

I put 300 miles on the drz today. Speed wobble above 80 so I need to rebalance the front tire.

First time I've ridden it since before last September

Picked up a new (to me) bike yesterday. '08 KTM 530 EXC-R. Hadn't been on a dual sport since I sold my XRR a couple years ago. Glad to be back on two wheels
