Yeah it was real tough to get started, but once I got leverage it came off. I also used a razor to cut the glue, since I'm replacing it with better stuff.

Cool deal. I forgot to mention disconnecting the battery. That will let ECM relearn the Goodness! Cheers Man! Enjoy your truck. Also if the filling stations near you offer non ethanol, try to run it!

Also maybe get the energy poly steering rack Bushings shipped over night from Amazon. Here's the thread.

I saw that thread! I considered it, but I really don't feel like spending another $50 on it and dealing with getting the old bushings out.

The only time I've seen that was when @ManBeast tried it with his grill and it didn't turn out so well :bananadead: I'm sure he'll chime in with pics.

Cut it with some water. I stripped my headlight internals and shrouds that way

Headlights have a small layer of shiny, damn grill has the chrome, copper and tin below that. Almost a milimeter thick.

I'm not stripping over anything with these. Fingers crossed that it sticks fine.

Well, all finished up. Here's what I accomplished today.

    • Change transmission oil with Redline MT90
    • Change rear diff oil with Mobil 1 Synthetic 75w-90
    • Change spark plugs and replace with Denso 90919-01235
    • Clean MAF sensor and throttle body
    • BHLM. Ohhhh the BHLM. If I didn't have to open the headlights anyways, I would have never done this otherwise since it's such a pain in the ass. Getting all the old gunk out is a bitch, and keeping the freshly painted part pristine is also damn near impossible when putting it back together. I'd give these a 6.5/10 since there are some minor imperfections. Hopefully I'll stop noticing them soon.
Tomorrow is going to be the real test of my mechanical skills. I have to replace the rack and pinion, and that'll be the final thing before getting reinspected!

It worked great!! To paint it, I just held it with my left hand and painted with my right. It was the easiest way to get all the nooks and crannies.

Dude, I unfortunately burned all my freetime until finals. I wont be able to hang out or anything until after June 30th. You live like probably within 3 miles of me, I want to check out your new truck sooner rather than later! Maybe during the first week of July, I'll be in an ultrasound course but it shouldn't have any homework or anything so that week should be chill.
