OP on a serious note aside from love destiny..

It does look like that wheel could've no joke failed... I would look into getting a lawyer.. I mean that's a fairly serious accident you had, that could've killed you or others..
And those tickets you got, would be another reason to look into a lawyer.. Those are ridiculous.

I hope you start wearing a seat belt now. You were lucky.

We had that happen two times on our work trucks, after a brake job at a shop. They put the nuts back, but didn't thighten them back. We didn't lose a wheel, luckily, but now we do repairs ourselves on our trucks as much as possible. The trucks only go to a shop or garage if it's something we can't do (and there is actually not a lot of things we can't do).

It didn't show up right away, everything was normal untill we started feeling abnormal vibrations coming from the truck on the highway, so we stopped on the side of the road to investigate and we saw the nuts had become all lose, with the bolts nearly cut in half. The truck was loaded with work equipment, that we couldn't have afforded to lose. We would definitely have lost a wheel, but fortunately, we didn't. The shop did pay and replace damaged nuts and bolts

and by the way, glad you are ok OP

Even if the bearings were bad, how could that have contributed to the accident? It's not like it fully separated from the knuckle.

Playing devil's advocate but it's more likely the wheel broke during the accident. The OP was likely distracted while driving and lost control causing the roll over. The police felt the same way and issued the tickets.

I also think it was one of the dudes that messaged you looking for love.

My wife almost died due to a vehicle defect. Approximately a week prior to the court date we settled but the auto manufacture didn't pay the settlement. We sued the auto manufacture a second time for non payment. A couple weeks prior to the court date they agreed to pay, and two months later we got a check.

This is the short version, the auto manufacture played hard ball and made things as tough as possible during the entire legal process which took 2 1/2 years. They even tried to have the case moved to another city 500 miles away. I'm not sure it was worth suing even though it was sizeable check.

I understand that when there is a multi vehicle collision in order to assign blame, but it seems ridiculous that they would do it in a single vehicle accident. I wonder if it is to cover the city/counties ass in case you wanted to go back and sue them for some road condition that lead to the accident. That way they have something in court saying it was your fault. If that is the case it is a pretty scummy practice.

Yep, lawyer up to fight the tickets first then go after the wheel company.
If you have a case a lawyer will be more than happy to pursue it.
Man that could have killed you, won't harp on you about the seat belt.
Did the police know you didn't have it on?
That could have been a third ticket.
I hope everything works out for you

I had a BFG rugged terrain blow on an F-250 I was driving, the driver side front tire, and that tire blowing out pulled the truck into the median, even with a ~1,700 Lb motor in the bed (more weight over the rear axle, moving the balance point towards the rear of the truck) there was a very strong pull to the left.

First thing needs to be done is lawyer for court cases. Then go with lawyer an it appears wheel bearings need to be inspected on the side of failure. Wheel needs to be inspected also along with condition of tire. Was tire still inflated? Where did spokes separate from wheel? Will be a timely process. The company that made the wheel still in business? Lots of questions.
