You have to drill all the way through to help relieve stress in the rivet/assembly. You'd probably blow your elbow or wrist out trying to hammer them out with no holes. Also, not sure what kind of hammer you're using, but get as big of a hammer as you can get a good swing with, no pussy hammers, the bigger the better.

Any of you fine gentlemen have threads referencing an ibeam or ttb swap on a first gen? I know mcneil has done some conversions, and giant makes a kit, but the more info the merrier.

Dirt king. The kit is at powdercoat now supposedly, but the shocks from king are the 6-8week part.

You can usually knock the. Out with a ball peen hammer or large punch. Once they are ground flat and drilled they come out pretty easy

I would try a smaller drill bit at first, but yeah, if you go that high there won't be much to hit. And if you go that high you might as well just drill it out instead of hammering it out. If you used a large-ish drill bit you could try a tapered punch and insert it into the hole and try to hammer it out that way, but you would need to be able to knock the rivet off the punch after it comes out.

Chances are that your holes won't be perfectly centered. I'd be carefull just going for it with a half inch bit.

If you drill all the way thru it with a 3/8 bit and grind the rivet flat at the minimum the hanger will come off the frame. You may have to grind the other an 1/8" more off the rivet once once the hanger is removed but it will come out with minimal force. I remove rivets from frames pretty much weekly. These days I use the plasma a lot more. It when I need to keep the part I'm taking off perfect I still do it with a drill and grinder.

    4.56 or 4.88 gears for 4nd gen on 35's?

    What are you guys running?

Trucks my Dd so I'm thinking 4.56 may be a better call for highway. And opinions or suggestions?
