I just recently picked up the Ipod2Car Ipod interface and installed it quite easily. I ran the 12 foot cable to the cubby hole just to the left of the AC controls.

I have a question and I'm wondering if anyone else has ran into this problem. When I turn the car off, the Ipod goes into charging mode. Will this wear down the battery over time, or does it shut down once the Ipod is fully charged?

    Thanks

Good question...and I honestly don't know. I've had my PXDP for about 3 years and my old nano lived in my truck/s. This spring I switched to an 80gig and it lives in my truck. The nano is still kickin around and I haven't noticed any battery life problems (I use it at the gym).

Not that you need another forum - but here's a neat ipod forum.

I was actually wondering more about the car battery, like the equivalent of leaving an interior light on, all the time.

    I wouldn't worry about it.

If you keep the ipod hooked up all the time (to the PXDP)- then you're not really using much (or any) battery life on the ipod itself. You have a direct connection with power through the PXDP. So - your ipod battery will probably never really need charging (although, it says on the screen everytime). Therefore - no drain on the car battery.

    Did that make sense?

Again - I've had the PXDP on my Dodge Ram and currently this tacoma and have seen no ill effects on the battery.
