The ref lost sight of the puck and blew the whistle. That is what is supposed to happen. When the whistle is blown all play after that is null and void. Pretty simple concept.

Fuck it. The better team won and I don't have to watch country musicans talk about hockey.

Big congrats to Hainsey. he's one of my good friends. Were in each other weddings. He's worked hard for this chance and it's paid off. Couldn't be happier for him and I'm pretty excited to get my hands on the cup this summer.
And if you're a canes fan....don't be surprised to see him back in Raleigh next year.

The players who have been asked to waive their no trade clauses will have tomorrow and Tuesday to decide whether to waive. If they waive there no trade clauses they will open themselves up to the expansion draft.

That's how I understood it. Murray made the initial save and blocked the refs sight of the puck. Whistle blown since the ref couldn't see the puck after the initial save.

Almost the same thing happened with Rinne, but the ref was on the side the puck popped out on so the ref still had sight of it.

Was it a bad call, nope. But unfortunate for the preds. With 4 power plays including a 5 on 3 in what eventually was the last game of the season they shouldn't have to rely on one call.

He's not being serious. He's just trash talking.

The Canucks will finish in the bottom 5 and management will ask the Sedin's to leave but they won't because BC life.

I can't believe Guentzel didn't win MVP, or Malkin. Crosby is no doubt the key to the team and distracts to free them up, but they were dominant all playoffs.

So pumped about the win. Hate to see it go down with a disallowed goal, but Preds had their chances. Murray outstanding. I don't even have to defend him at this point. His accomplishments and numbers speak for themselves. I'm cool with Sid winning Conne-Smythe. Really, last game is what won it for him, in my opinion. That was the best anyone has played in the playoffs and he took charge. Would like to have seen Geno or Jake get it but I get why Sid won (that and being Canadian). Looks like I am taking a day off for the parade this week :bananadance:

Wow What a great series between these 2 teams. Both teams played their asses off. As a Penguins fan if that call of the non goal was against the Penguins I’d be upset as well, the call was made and unfortunately you have to live with what the call was. After the whistle was blown the puck went in. imagine how mad u would have been if the ref waived it off and called “Intent to blow”. Right or wrong the whistle was blown because the referee made a mistake. (And for the record, I didn’t like the call either). They attempted to make up for it by giving the Pred’s a 5-3 and 4 Power Plays to Pitt.’s zero PP’s. I think the refs blew this game from both sides. The calls against Pitt. were penalties, but there were a lot of calls that could have been made against Nashville that weren’t. I thought the goal challenge by Nashville was smart, if there was even the slightest touch on Pekka it would have been waived off. I thought most of the Nashville fans were awesome, only thing that bothered was fans throwing shit on the ice and someone hitting Malkin. I'm sorry that’s just not right, very classless by that fan. I read an article in 2008 after Pitt. Lost in the finals to Detroit, that said the only real way to appreciate winning a Cup is to find out what it feels like to lose it. Nashville has a lot of potential to win it all in the next few years, the battle and level of compete they showed this series tells me they are going to get it done sooner than later. Congrats to the Preds on a great series played, hold your head high you have nothing to be ashamed of.
