Paid what $6500 in April 2017 for my 2000 with 289K. Very clean one owner, no accidents with most of the service history. Obviously, I'm not afraid of miles. ;)

Probably a bit high in my opinion, however to some maybe not so much. At least the lift & wheels are nice. If you can get it for anything less, that's always better!

NO KIDDING!! I paid $9K on a '02 Xtra Cab, 4x4, TRD OR with 125K miles and I thought I got a good deal! I would have paid more for one for less miles, but that was all I could find in that range.

If frame is solid, I'd jump on it. I'd probably try to talk them down saying stuff like: timing belt, water pump, yada yada, and then offer them whatever in $100 bills.

I paid $3700 for my 1999 Toyota Tacoma Xtra Cab 3.6L 4x4. My wife talked it down from $4500. After a hail storm, the insurance paid me $4500 before the deductible. So....I guess it was free.

Lookin' to get a 2004 TRD SR5 Tacoma Limited with 180,000 on it for $8,200 sometime this week. VIN report checks out, and I plan to get a pre-purchase inspection.

Truck was in really good shape, confirmed by mechanic. Mechanic said that most of the important parts were really new, turns out the guy would only take it to a place in outside of town that would have all the original and special parts for Toyota (they were Japanese mechanics according to seller). Timing belt will need replacement pretty much immediately. Cruise control is not setting, but likely a connection issue. Truck looks great, feels good driving. You could tell that the wife was pushing for the sell, cuz he doesn't want to get rid of it. Mechanic was very animated about the quality of the truck and parts. Guy has all service records.

I think this may be the one.

Expect I think around $1000 for the timing belt + water pump + labor. If you do it yourself, its about $300ish in OEM parts, just fyi. YMMV due to labor rates in your particular area varying from mine. You can always use that fact to help negotiate price

My 2003 was love at first sight!
A small Maine dealership had this single cab "hard to sell silver" tacoma on their lot in the late fall of 2003, with a $5k Factory rebate to make room for the new 2004s. So I got it brand new for a wopping $12,750!

1999 3.4l auto 4x4 TRD 154k damn near like new, $1,000. I got it so cheap cause a 2 foot section of frame is rotten, that and I've known the seller for a long time. Took it down to the bare frame, sandblasting, welding and beefing up the frame, going to be a great rig loaded with all the normal OME stuff plus some other goodies.

$17,000 for a 2003 double cab 4x4 trd off road with snug top super sport and only 57,800 miles. (Other offers for $16,500 and 16,750 without inspection requirement). White with tan interior, which is my ideal combo. Everything is exactly what i would want except tourings vs a/ts and the cap doesn't have windoors. Only a 3 hour drive to pick up.

Spent an additional $250 to split the 60k mile service and timing belt replacement with original owner. Relied on the toyota inspection with 60k service instead of independent mechanic.

Truck is stock, arizona/california truck, virtually no rust, but there are a few dents (4-5, but all small), low mileage touring tires with no uv damage (but not a/t). Only problem so far is some axel wrap when stopping.

I gots mines off of craigslist 1996 with a 2.7 170KMI 4x4, lifted with 31's on it in 2013 It was beat up but ran really good. He wanted 5K for it, but I waved a big wad of cash in front of him and got it down to 3800ish.
