You sound like a waiter's worst nightmare, someone who will bitch about anything to get a free dessert lol.

I don't know why you expect Toyota to fix physics, does anyone here know how leaf springs even work?? They're basically flexible metal beams that work as heavier duty coil springs, except when dirt and grime gets between those metal slabs surprise surprise it makes noise!! I don't know how anyone who's offroaded before doesn't already know this.

I dealt with it on my first and second gen and when it happened to my 3rd gen (I offroad a lot) I didn't even think to bitch to Toyota, I did what I always do: pressure washed the leafs and greased them with white lithium problem solved.

This is also not unique to Toyota, this happens with any leaf spring that gets dirt in between.

Chevy TSB for the same problem, same solution:
    http://sandyblogs.com/techlink/?p=5002

Here's for rapor owners dealing with the same problem, same solution:
    http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f9/leaf-spring-squeak-revisited-14352/
    Als effects F250 and 350s:
    http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f7/squeaky-raptor-leaf-springs-66/

Nissan Frontier owners dealing with the same problem (also a TSB for it):
    http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/f8/squeaky-leaf-springs-47199/
    http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/f8/squeaky-leaf-springs-197761/

    Titan owners dealing with it:
    http://www.titantalk.com/forums/tit...ow-grease-leaf-springs-prevent-squeaking.html

    Tundra owners:
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/leaf-springs-squeaking.13339/

    Silverado owners:
    http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/197045-squeak/

The only difference I noticed from briefly browsing those threads is no Chevy/Ford/Nissan owners are being bitches about it, only on the Tacoma and Tundra owners are people saying "its ridiculous I have to deal with this on a $XX,xxx truck!!" are Toyota owners just special or something?? All the ford/chevy/nissan guys talk about a solution then do it, the Toyota guys just bitch to each other in an echochamber of entitlement of how Toyota needs to fix it for them OR ELSE!!!

Should also note Tacoma owners offroad more than any other model save for the for raptor. So of course we're going to see it happen more on our trucks we're out there getting them dirty! I've seen literally HUNDREDS of Tacomas offroading out in Anza Borrego, every time I go its Tacoma after Tacoma with Jeeps and Raptors scattered in between.... I've seen literally TWO Chevy Colorados out there and both were stuck lol.

These are low 20's trucks, that are optioned up to 45ish. It's still a budget oriented truck.

You went to Applebees and ordered the most expensive steak on the menu.

I would take my truck in too if it had squeaking leafs, this is just not right for a new truck and expect better quality from a Toyota that is why i spent the money on a Toyota. I expect a dodge to do this but not a Toyota. The truck is made for off road and the sticker says it is for off road, but they are trying to make excuses not to fix it? I bought this truck new so I would not have to turn wrenches on it, crawl under it, etc. I want toyota care and mainteannce warranty to do their fair share for at least the first 3 years or 36k miles. What the hell did people spend all this money on a new truck for to work on it and have to come up with back yard fixes? Get real!

I'd be questioning what kind of a person buys a truck with the expectation they don't turn a wrench. Aren't most of us truck guys the kind of guys that work with our hands? That's why we have trucks? Maybe I'm wrong.

You made me laugh out loud when you said dodge. I owned one (2012) and if you knew about them they have coil springs and are quiet. Before you give me some bs about rams being garbage save it for someone who's less informed.

Entitled people will be entitled rather its $40 or $40k.

You make some good points in general about the third gen, but when you bitch about things like leaf springs squeaking after offroading it takes away from your legitimate grievances and makes you simply look like one of those people that will always complain no matter what.

Those people are easy to disregard because they're just determined to be miserable. And you don't just bitch, you take it to kate gosselin levels of "RAISE HELL! write letters!!! call your congressman!!!! you DESERVE this!!" Like jesus dude if you only realized how little anyone actually gives a shit lol.

Sorry but when my 2003 160K mile Ford Ranger doesn't have squeaking suspension after 1000's of miles of dirt and mud... yet my $40K 2016 Tacoma does in the first 10K, I see a departure from acceptable tolerance.

There you go again with you stupid little anecdotes. I literally just posted links to Chevy/Ford/Nissan owners ALL having the same issue its stupid to try and claim this doesn't happen to other trucks....

I've already said this before but I've seen Chevy cavaliers with 250k miles on original engines, but guess what?? The chevy cavalier is still a POS.

Why is it that out of half a dozen trucks and SUVs I've had experience with (including a 2003 Tacoma for 8 years and 75K miles), the 2016 Tacoma is the only one squeaking like a bed at the bunny ranch? BTW a simple search for Squeaky Leafs will yield 100s of other posts about it from folks other than yours truly.

The problem is you all wash your trucks. I drive 3 miles of dirt every day. My 2017 taco is dirty all the time and has no squeaks. Probably will be washed 1X/year if I'm feeling generous. QUIT washing your trucks!

ETA: and use the ignore list.

White lithium grease fix takes no longer than 15 seconds. Took me much longer to type this reply.

IMG_0180.jpg Don't come on Tacoma world stating that you have a problem, you'll be a whiner, complainer or some other bad person. My 2005 Tacoma has silent leaf springs and I work in the woods for a living. Also have friends putting 90-100k a year Tacoma's and besides sagging springs they have no issues with squeakkng. I'd be irritated if my new truck squeaked, but then again maybe I'm entitled.

My 2005 squeaks. It was definitely a problem with the 2nd gens.

I had squeaky leaf spring approximately 2 month ago after a week of offroading with mud and water. All I did to fix was jack the car up by the tow hitch, so the back wheels make it off the ground, use water to get the majority of dirt out, then i used brake cleaner with a toothbrush (make sure not to over spray onto sensitive parts) I then use chain lube, which is sprayable teflon, and spray liberally, get every nook and cranny. I have had any squeaks since

Oh don't be redonkulous, it isn't a problem at all. It's completely normal and acceptable. You wouldn't want to sound entitled by terming it a "problem."

My springs and frame are only 3.5 months old, so maybe they will start squeaking some day. But at 6k purchase price I'll fix it myself.
