Yep, over $90+taxes for them to do it. The quarts of gear oil were $14.99 from Autozone, so three of those, then the $7 for the socket. Still came out around $50 ahead!

 

I noticed my temps where higher than I liked and adding the cooler dropped them about 15 degrees

 

Thanks man, I actually hadn't had a sip! I was on my way to a BBQ & planned on getting messed up then! We'll see what my insurance says about it.

 

You really just did that on purpose so you could get a plate bumper, anzo tail lights and new fender flares, didn't you!

 

How hot is hot for these transmission? Hottest I've seen it was around 200 degrees.

I put new pads and rotors on my pig today. Much better

Use some goo gone and/or WD 40, and scrub with a rag. Might take a bit, but it'll come off.

 

Goo gone will take it off and use lots of elbow grease.

 

Follow up the cleaning with some 3M Finesse It. There are better products if you have a random orbital polisher but if you are doing it by hand then the 3M product will bring the shine back to that area so it will at least look as good as the surrounding area, if not better.

 

This came in the mail today and about to install the Quickfist mounts to put this bad boy up!

 

That's it. Follow up getting it clean with polish, sealer and wax. Probably won't be able to see it at all.

 

Swapped out my rack and pinion with a refurbished one from Rock Auto. After I get my core back, it'll cost me ~$250 or so. 'twas quite a bitch, and it seemed to fight me every step of the way. It only took me two trips to the store to get the brunt of the work done! I did manage to mangle the high pressure feed line. The fitting was so rusty, it wasn't turning and the tube was twisting instead. Toyota wants $230 for the feed and return line as a whole unit, but NAPA has just the feed line for $75. PHEW!! I'll pick that up in the morning and get it all buttoned up.

I scrubbed that SOB for idk how long and it didn't do a thing to it. I'm just going to paint the badges black and stick them back on.
