Does the Phillips warrant the extra 50 bucks?

Is a separate relay harness required for the xenondepot tacoma hid kit? Their site doesn't specify

40 dollars and 5 additional minutes to install. These really shouldn't be factors when looking at the big picture and when pieced together as I did, less money than even the base XD package all in.

I'm not knocking their product, but my own experience with hylux has been extremely positive so I did what it took to have that quality in a truck I paid well for.

just a bolt or two at the top and the wiring harness going into the motor needs to be be unplugged. Pull straight up and then twist it so the pump hose length doesn't get too tight and I set it on top of what I believe is the power steering reservoir right next to it.

It comes with a relay harness, but after confirming with @XenonDepot, it is not required for install. I have mine wired up without the relay harness, and everything functions great.

I am personally a lot happier that I did not have to install a relay harness, as it would have taken me a lot longer than 5 mins to install. The XD harness is not nearly as nice as yours.

Yours has both relays on one side and only requires running the additional wiring to one side and hooking it up, and the relays have mounting holes to accomplish this. The XD harness has relays on both sides of the headlights, and no mounting tabs. All of this would have meant another couple hours of wire routing and fabbing something to mount everything to.

Took me a couple hours to install, as I took my time to make everything look clean and one, including wrapping the wire in split loom. This was my first HID kit I have installed, and I'm sure that was a factor.

I feel a lot of the guys and gals here are looking for simple plug and play performance without having to route a lot of wires under the hood. The XD kit without the relay harness was the solution for me.

    Sorry for the long quote

Coming up on two weeks now, but I know there are others guys in here who have it installed the same way for way longer and no problems.

I've done a couple of retrofits with Morimotos through https://www.theretrofitsource.com. They produced an amazing light output but I had some issues with them and had to replace a couple of parts. Thankfully they came with a lifetime warranty. Customer service was great only problem is the time it takes to fix a retrofit.

    Update from Xenon Depot
"Our most recent shipping update from our supplier is that we should have these items by the end of this week, and then we will be shipping them out as soon as possible once we receive our stock. At this point, I would expect you will receive the items early next week."

I'm pretty annoyed. This should have been marked as out of stock on their website.

I haven't got an update from them. Thanks for sharing though. I also get annoyed by sales on out of stock items with no indication of such.

The first e-mail said week of the 12th is when they were due to arrive. Still in that week so I'm not pushing for an update. Patience is a virtue. :)
