When you did your rear seal you pull off the housing that holds it too? Just curious if I need to drop my oil pan.

 

I am going to have to edit out years, to fit mine into 35 minutes. Lol.

Ford's answer to the BMW S52, Toyota 2JZ, & Toyota 1FZ. Never seen that engine before, and already a fan!

 

History on them is cool. I came across it on youtube about a year ago. The turbo version of it ford put a gt35r on it from the factory and only runs like 10psi. Just a big turbo and barely even working it.

 

4.0 1GR with that recipe is about 420 whp and 480-490 wtq.

I imagine that engine would be around there + or -.

 

They might have been pretty conservative with it. They claimed only 350hp. Probably have to tune from the factory the idiot that puts low octane in it.

 

Quite true. Even still, their lowest octane is 91 RON, petrol. Safer for them than us. Lol.

 

I think over there 91 is the same as 87 here in the states when you convert the units.

 

After doing some reading, you're right.

They use RON alone. Whereas we use AKI. Anti-knock Index. (RON + MON)/2. Roughly a 4 - 5 point difference. Where 85 AKI octane here is 90 RON there.

 

I didn't need to drop the oil pan. There are 6 bolts that hold it to the back of the block and 2 or 3 that hold it to the oil pan. Once you remove all of those, you can pry off the piece that holds the rear main seal. The tedious part it scraping all of the old pan gasket off of that short section of oil pan in that tight space to reseal it when you reinstall the new seal.

 

Cool I'll just do it that way them.

Lesson learned now. DO NOT TRUST the OEM oil light. Otherwise, your engine is burnt vesrion of this >>>

 

I guess if there is no oil it can read oil pressure haha

 

I had ruined my stroker engine, by going by that light. I now am the proud owner of a Tanabe oil pressure gauge. Lol

Is it possable for the boost in the charge pipe to be 1 or 2 psi higher than the boost guage and does anyone know what would cause that
