I have a led dome light in my 04 and it works fine. My switch is a little touchy if it's not in the perfect position though.

Is the boot actually torn? I know that end of the boot is just a slip fit so it would be pretty easy for it to leak past.

I'd clean the boot with a wd40 and toothbrush inspect for any splits

    I wouldn't use WD40 on the boots, not a good mix w/rubber

I do paint and body work for a living and see this situation a lot. I have seen several cars come in for the body work and prep for paint then sent off to Maaco. Yes they look good but only about a year as the use a baseline/shopline clear that is made to be cheap because it won't last. A good paint job that will cost you about 7k will be done right from a good shop. Yes it sounds like a lot but doing it everyday I can tell you they don't make much at all if anything on 7k paint prices for good quality paint are outrageous. I know our paint cost us 8 dollars an ounce and it'll take a gallon to do an all over so a gallon of base and a gallon of clear would run around 2100 for the shop plus the body labor, materials used and lifetime warranty. That's a good deal

My exact thoughts too! My LED in the dome light works fine but can be touchy. I thought I was the only one. I have an 04 also.

Yes, but you make it fit. It comes with lots of extra material on all 4 sides. Also has no cutouts for bolt holes, shifters, storage bins, nothing. You do that all yourself.

Very happy with the end result. However, I would go through and count the number of "paint in the ass", "I hate my life", and "please kill me now" posts you can find in mine and @cynicalrider builds in reference to vinyl installation before you start. It isn't any fun. Not hard, just sucks.
