Assume everyone driving in front of you will slam on their brakes for no reason, everyone behind you will rear end you, and everyone to the sides will blindly merge into the side of your vehicle. By doing this you won't be surprised when these events start to take place and can act accordingly to avoid them.

? I dont give a crap what the source video was taken from. Stupid drivers should be recognized for their stupidity. I am glad more people are getting dash cams to capture this.

 

Something that drives me nuts around here is that you must have a certain threshold in following the car in front, but not too much distance or else some idiot will think its a passing opportunity. A big issue with this area is many drivers are more concerned about getting somewhere 2 seconds faster by disrupting the flow of traffic then waiting their turn as no one really cares for the other. When they do this, there is about likely a 1/4 chance that the driver they are cutting off may not have the best reaction time. Next thing you know, there is a fender bender because of some dipshit.

What the real factor though that instigates a lot of issues is the overwhelming diversity of the area. We have a lot of foreigners that drive very conservative and since we don't honor the left lane is for passing rule, these conservative drivers can exist in any lane on the freeway. This can be very frustrating because you cant really assume that they will be distracted or brake check for any and everything as in reality they should be closer to the right where people are more focused on lane changes and the expectation of that is there.

 

I for one, applaud this video. Gives a prime example of what an idiot in front can do, thus give them enough space to complete their show uninterrupted.

 

I'm just glad to see he didn't take anyone else with him. Besides that poor pole at least.
