Today was time for a my service and a shuttle took me to work. I chatted with the gentleman about the new Tacomas and he shared with me some information that may or may not be helpful to you. Never the less here it is.

Using grade 89+ grad fuel WILL help performance, but obviously not your gas mileage. But to make up for the lost gas mileage, you can install the TRD intake which will give you a return of 2-3 mpgs. Although better gas costs more, if your really looking to get slightly better performance, add the CAI with mid-premium grade fuel and you MPGs should remain the same as regular.

    That's what I got.

News for me, could be news for someone else too. I'm no expert. Especially with all the debate about fuel economy and if the COI is worth it for some.

Newsflash. No intake will give you a 10-15% increase in efficiency. If it were that simple then Toyota would have said F' the millions on R&D, let's just put a $50 intake on there and call it a day... said no engineer ever.

Intake maybe .001-.005 of an increase of MPG. Sorry, but I have to disagree with that statement. Besides, anyone with a CAI will almost always pin it to the floor to hear the CAI. Just my .02

"some information that may or may not be helpful to you. Never the less here it is."

Just sharing news, because if this was true and I never told anyone, then no one would benefit.

Yeah but... but that "pinning it to the floor" to bask in the sound glory-ness is what activates the butt dyno to measure the guaranteed HP increase!

Can we prove it's fake? I mean anybody can say it's not true. But ultimately unless someone tests it, it's a schrodinger's cat.

Is this something you can test and let us know the results to prove its fake then?

Would you trust the receptionist at your doctors office if he/she gave you medical advice?

No but if a coworker told me I show symptoms of something they had before, I would definitely go test for it.
