Until summer is over, the most I can get away from work is 1 day. By mid September, I can start taking some vacation time. One day trips are kind of rushed. Closest place we have worth the time and trouble is a 2-1/2 hour drive each way.

That, and I LOVE off roading @ Harlan. It reminds me of a place we wheeled when I was younger (now closed) Until I retire, this is just about the only multi day trip I have on my radar.

2.5 hrs is perfect for a day trip! URE is that for some of us, and there will be a smoker running with a pittfaced bbq rubbed pork butt.

We do 3 or 4 day trips every summer. More during the fall and winter months. Natural Bridge/Slade Ky already, Badlands up in Indiana, will be going to Interlake in Southern Indiana before the year ends. For now, Harlan is the only overnighter. This will change shortly. Retirement on the horizon. Then camping and trail riding will be 2 or 3 weekends a month all year round!

My job evolved into a tangled mess of 6 and 7 day work weeks. It pays extremely well, but the last few years have been hell. Just a few more to go....

We got back about a month ago from a week and a half in Moab. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it. It's a one of a kind adventure.

    So True HAHA!

Edit: I have backed out before for unforeseeable things but if I try my best not to commit to going if there's even a chance that I wont make it.

I just booked my room at the comfort inn about 9mins away from the park. I plan on rolling in around 11-12 on Friday. Figured this is the best way to start, it will be my wife and I's first big wheeling trip!! :bananadance::bananadance:
