Feel free. I like the mix of sweet and heat, definitely family friendly but pleases the hot head in the house.

Never tried olive oil ? GFI ....

The usual recipe calls for dry Hidden Valley ranch dressing in place of the rub.

I can't eat plain pretzels, gotta jazz them up

Got mine today. After a long day I opened it, threw it down on the counter and said I'm ready for a rub. Long story short...I'm sitting in the recliner drinking a cold one on TW.

@bvbull200 My quick assessment is I really dig it! I'm no flavor or bbq expert by any shake of the stick and tend to sauce food up and just chow down when I'm hungry. This totally exceeded my expectaions and the sauce stayed in the fridge.

I found myself enjoying my meal and trying to identify flavors. I got some sweetness with a slight hint of heat on the backend.

We did a quick 20 minute prep, but I'm sure if we do a proper prep of the meat it will be even more fantastic.

You all have me hankering for chops again.

That is awesome to hear! It doesn't take a BBQ expert to know when something tastes good ;). You'll find more and more uses for it, I'm sure.

Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback!

I finally made it to the Post Office to check my mail, the rub was there, I got home and cut it open and tasted it...I cant wait to try it on some ribs and corn and chicken! For me its got a tiny bit of heat but not overwhelming...great flavor! Thanks!

    Woot!

    Corn? That's another great idea.

For some of the non-BBQ stapels, I use it in fatties, bacon wrapped onion rings, fish, veggies, and have doctored up rice with it.

The feedback on the heat level is really helpful, too. I'm a pepper head, so my heat scale is pretty poorly calibrated for the general population. I don't think it is too hot, but there is a little heat. It is good to get various impressions on it.

I have some "prototypes" of a spicier version. The trick is adding heat without changing the signature flavor. Maybe when we finish wrapping up this next batch, we'll whip up a little bit of a hot version and I'll look in to sampling it :).

yeah I use my other rub on corn and its fantastic! This will prob be just as good if not better! My heat tolerance is really high so when people ask me if its spicy I tell them Im prob not the best person to ask that...lol I dont like extreme spicy but I do like a good heat! Thai restaurant around here have a heat level of 5 and for me its about a 1. Theres a mexican place here that makes a side salsa thats about right for me, it has habaneros in it but its not overwhelmingly spicy. I have however nuked myself making a fresh salsa...just depends on the heat of the peppers.
