prob too much heat for me unless it was proportionate to flavor. It gets too spicy and its detracts from the flavor

For heat level, on a scale of 1-10, where would you put the current rub?

What level would you be interested in?

Have not tested the rub yet. But I'm usually a fan of around a 7 for heat. Enough to make ya burn a little bit, but not take away any flavor

That's the heat solution to almost everything

Ghost pepper is at least a little "smokier" flavor, so it does play nice with BBQ rub.

for me its about a 1 on heat I can tell its there but not much after heat IMO at least for me...Id go for a 7 or 8, I made a chili with habaneros and it was just about an 8 had good flavor and heat. Some people couldnt get enough of it.

I did use it on some steak last night, really liked the flavor, I also really liked how the sugar caramelized a little bit in the pan. Usually eat steak with A1 but the rub stood out by itself and I found myself not using the A1. Tonight i'll be marinating some 90/10 angus ground with this rub for jerky, ill make the jerky tomorrow.

Haven't checked PO yet but I'm sure it's there by now. All this heat talk... I'm hoping it's around a 4, because GF doesn't like much heat even though I have her trained a bit by now. Myself I could do a 7 and love it, but with a 4 it would have just enough so I could get it and not enough where she won't eat it. By all the feedback so far, I have no doubt it'll be ideal level of heat for both of us.

I put it at a four, but that may have even been overstating it slightly. I don't think you'll have an issue with it being too hot for the GF. My wife is a wuss and she likes the stuff.

I've actually been thinking about using some of it my pan of beans I'm planning to do this weekend. I usually put some spices and sweetness in them and this could be something that puts it over the top.

Soon bvbull200 is going to be like Guy on DDD saying you could put it on a flip flop and eat it. :)

What is the time and temperature for getting a flip flop to be probe tender?

I think it's about 18 seconds at 1000 degrees. Oh no wait that's for a flip flop lava cake.

I'd say 3-4 on heat... my 3 year old liked it but said its "kinda hot", wife liked it. I'd love to try a 6-7, but wouldn't need as much because it would probably only go on my food.
