Oh. Yeah, I'll have to pass on that. I just don't wanna pull apart my stock ones to do the AAL. Trying to keep the OEM stuff in tact and easily swappable

I wouldn't do it alone. I've always been with just 1 vehicle, but with a few passengers.

Only really got into trouble once on snow bank when my winch broke (don't get a champion winch) and it was 3hrs of digging snow before another vehicle came along, but we could have walked out before dark if needed.

It would be a great trip for a small group, or if we had a large group, we'd have to stagger when we hit the trail as some places are not wide enough for 2 vehicles and there will be jeeps... so many jeeps. Although side-by-sides are really popular these days.

I wish I could have gone to big bend, never been there. CO is amazing though.

I figure minimum of a 6 day trip for this. 2 driving, 4 there. That wouldn't be enough to explore all the trails, just hit the high points and maybe some fishing and hiking. Amazing hiking trails, we would actually cross the continental divide trail a few times.

I'm thinking probably August of next year for something like this. Maybe I'll need to start a separate thread to make plans and track who wants to come... I'll think on it. I know the area very well, so I should be able to make a good plan.

Java is just my latest gig. Spent 7 years in .Net console development before this. Some asp.net but not much. In my opinion a good developer should be able to move between code bases. I could care less what its written in. I'm more concerned about solid architecture design and solutions that will hold up. We have too many "contractors" that come in at my current place. Pull the code off stackoverflow and call it a design. Then upper management wonders why it performs like crap once it hits prod. My gig in .Net was pretty good. We were a CMMI lvl 3 company which made everything really smooth. It was a contract for the postal service so not so profitable though. Which is why im here at this place.

Why weren't you posting this back in December...

also, "contractor" is right up there with "cancer" as words that start with C I consider curse words. Not quite on the same level, but up there.

I could make any time of the year work with some advance notice. Obviously this trip would be planned well in advance. Count me in, tag me if you start a new thread. I will say that you might wait to start a new thread if you're trying to keep the group small. Do it too early and it'll turn into 25 trucks wanting to go.

I would just use a group conversation. I would also be in depending on timing. I'm not afraid to go solo but a good group is always better. I'll probable make a trip this fall if I have the PTO.

AAL is easy to instal if it's off the truck. I'm to lazy to actually put up for sale so if you change your mind and want them just let me know, they have 12k mi on them.

I'd like to keep all stock suspension intact for easy swapping if needed. That's why I don't wanna install them on my stock leafs. And if I buy another set of leafs, I'd rather have them with the AAL installed already haha. Unless you wanna sell them for some stupid ridiculous price.

Not a bad idea... I'll start one so I can at least remember who wanted to be notified when plans start coming together.

In other news... Just got one of those offer letters from a dealership to by my Tacoma. 18,240.00. I have a feeling they would regret that offer if they saw the dents, but they also don't know it only has 71k on the ODO.

    Mu Mu Mu MULTI QUOTE!

Do you still need this btw? I can bring it the 25th if you are going to be at the meetup

I need to get all my gear ready to bring it all to Grapevine so that I can get really sweaty and gross and then eat Tacos!

Mine has gone out again after having it serviced last year at the dealer under warranty... so taking it back Friday to have them find where the leak is... and they better... but having just hot air blow out is no bueno...

COME WITH ME TO ROCK THERAPY in October.... I am making it like a week and a half trip through NM, CO, and then into Moab... Stopping in ABQ, Santa Fe, and then a lot of places in CO and going to try and do some offroading in CO making my way up to then go over to Moab.

    Sooon...

What is this that is being planned?

I have considered a 4runner... but... I could see how I would be spending money left and right to mod one of those. Plus, I don't feel so bad when I add a new scratch or dent every now and then to my 8 year old truck.

The dealership that sent me the offer doesn't even sell Toyota, which is kind of weird.
