Being an adult blows sometimes. Wish ya could make it down. We'll hit it again sometime so I can ride with ya tearing up the widow maker.

If anyone needs some tools, Lowes is running a good sale on power tools for Fathers Day. Picked up 20V Dewalt drill, impact, Saw, and light combo pack w/ 2 batteries for $141 after using my $100 gift card. Regular $399, so I feel like I stole it.

I completely understand that and I'm sure once it's done I'll be convinced I could've done it myself, but anytime I'm doing something somewhat extensive that I've never done before, I like to have somebody with me that knows what they're doing. That way I don't screw it up and I'm stuck on my own trying to figure it out. Especially with the posts I've read on it about bolts having to be cut and replaced. I'm barely "somewhat" mechanically inclined, so I don't always trust myself on first time projects. Better safe than sorry.

Your truck being a bit older, it may need some PBlaster, or similar (NOT WD-40!!!!), sprayed on all the bolts a half hour or so in advance. At best. Never heard of bolts needing cut yet, guess I didn't research much as you did.
I did mine myself, more or less, but like you want, I did have someone with experience watching over. And a second person makes it easier when you want to muscle the LCA down out of your way.

Most people cut the uca bolt because they cant get them out. I forget which side, but one of mine i could get out, the other i could have if i had another 1/2" of room. So i turned the one i could get out around and left the other one the way it came out. I had enough room to pull the uca out with the one bolt resting on the frame.

The driver side UCA bolt can be a bitch. Mine got a little stuck on the way out, but I was able to hammer it out, then just put them back in the opposite way so they didn't get stuck again.

i had new uca bolts ready when i started my lift. instead of trying to mess with the old ones, just cut them immediately. probably saved me a lot of time
put the new ones in upside down. i check them regularly and they've never moved. a jam nut would be cheap insurance though if you're worried about them backing out

smashed this, broke that, covered it up with tape and paint
Take this for what it is, I've been reading up and doing a shit ton of research on suspension and upper control arms lower control arms and all that good stuff because I have been working directly with a couple of companies for upgrades to my truck and the sponsorships that come with these agreements.

While doing some of this research I found a video about an hour and thirty minutes long and from filthy motor sports who is a master distributor for king fox ome and almost everyone else and when explaining how shocks work how A arms work and how parts need to be installed to avoid damage to other parts under high stress use they instructed that the bolts for your A arms and shock bolts should always be install from front to rear on the truck because of how they allow for play and shift when under impacts.

    TLDR
If you don't install your bolts from front to rear your bolts will fit too tight and not allow for necessary play to avoid damaging other parts

(Per the info I have read and watch thus far)

@fleckosaurus Looks like its just me and you interested in sliders for now. I'd say a 3rd shipped to the same location would save us some shipping, but if you're still down to order sometime in the future to save a little just let me know and we'll order some.

I'm interested, but not from the same source...Going with bolt on sliders. Looks like I'll be doing CBI and shipping them with a front bumper at some point.

Apologies if I am hijacking a thread or posting in the wrong place, I just found this central KY thread. I live in lexington and had a tacoma a while back and was always on kyttora and ttora, I sold that truck and picked up an old 99 a few months back. I just wanted to introduce myself and was wondering if anyone here gets together and goes out on some trial rides around ky?
