    @bvbull200

    I'll get you feed back from someone who doesn't like the heat. I can deal with heat, just prefer not to eat it real hot at all. Honestly, I won't eat jalapeño peppers raw or as a topping, but will eat them in salsa since they tone down a bit.

    It'll be next weekend before I get do so something on the smoker with it since I'll be out of town.

    I can mine from the garden and give them away, or fresh if people request. Planted some by accident one year, now have to plant them as people are looking forward to them every year now.

    I going to try a pepper relish this year with some of them and sweet peppers, if I get enough sweet peppers. Just enough jalapeño for a tiny little bit of bite, since I'm a puss.

    It goes something like this. Year before I yelled at the wife for accidentally buying an entire flat of zucchini. Told her she has to look at the tags, as people pull and mix stuff up, etc. we don't eat much zuccchini, so it was wasted space. Following year, I went to buy an entire flat of sweet peppers, and of course I didn't look at the tags. Planted everything, and was amazed at the tiny narrow peppers as they started fruiting, and to my amazement, they were jalapeños. She laughed and said something about me yelling at her the year before. Now everyone wants them because they are supposedly good, supposedly. That's how I became a jalapeño farmer.

    Wow. I thought jalapenos need very specific grow conditions in northern climes. You must have them already.

    Well, I'm not really sure about specific conditions, but I must have it. They do outstanding in my garden for some reason. Two years ago, I gave away 20 gallon sized zip lock bags of fresh, and canned 15 quarts or so, from 6 plants. Each plant was absolutely loaded with them, and they kept producing.

    Don't you love when you yell at the wife for doing something and then turn around and do it later, and naturally she remembers and now you have no excuses because now she knows your full of it....:anonymous::bananadead:

    Oh yeah. I'll never live it down. She was supposed to buy pickling cucumbers for pickles. Had plans to do a bunch that year.

    That was the only mistake I've ever made though!!:rofl:

    What a great story! Loved reading it.

    My wife and I grow a lot of jalapeno's too, albeit intentionally. As you know, it is amazing how may peppers a single plant can produce in a season.

    After that year when I planted 16 plants, I scaled back to 6 or 8, depending on the plan for the year. Too bad I don't like them that much since they do so well. But the family and friends love them, so I don't mind doing the work to can them.
