Nope, just a cooler a neighbour was going to toss so I decided to do a little modding on it. 20170611_153554_HDR.jpg
Duct tape is temporary until the polyurethane adhesive sets. Amazing how much more efficient the corsair fans are.

I think you still have a couple microns left on those pads....

Yeah pads are really done! Rotor can still be used imo. I always change pads only and rotors the second time I change my pads. Cabot trail is real bad on brakes too... next time might be good to use a little engine compression? I don't know if it can hurt the drivetrain on an auto... but it could help of you use both compression and brakes. I can also be the quality of your replacement, i don't know about those green stuff but I think oem are rated for around 80k. I put raybestos on my truck and I really don't expect it to last as long as oem.

nice! where did you get the fans? 12v Im assuming.

    I think it was time

For the price of rotors, and how much it costs to get them turned and what not I decided to get new ones. They were scorched in a few places as well so for $300 taxes and shipping in I got new everything.

While I was on the Cabot trail I was in 4th or 3rd gear the whole time to try and help with braking but I was still riding the brakes a lot.

I do know with "performance pads" they do wear faster from what I read. Thats why I just got the cheapest kit I could this time around. See how they go.

Yup. They're static pressure computer case fans. Sp120 corsair. They're meant to push air though radiators in a water cooled setup. I was into pc building a little while ago and still have some parts laying around.

Damn I took notification off this thread, like a dumb ass. lol.

I use 'engine braking' on my auto all the time when wheeling. I never leave my truck in 4D when off road. I am constantly diddling the shifter to get it at just the perfect RPM for what I am doing with out wheel spin.

Some of the guys from our local off road group went to Ardbeg this weekend, went around black lake. Here is 1 image from them on facebook.

If you look to the right in that picture there is a nice dry route around the water hole. That's the way I took last year. I don't like mud. lol

Holy crap do I have my work cut out for me. Tomorrow I'm hopefully installing
    Fox 2.0 (3-4" lift)
    2" tapered lift blocks
    Stainless extended brake lines (rear)
    1/2" coil spacers
I need some advice. Would it be foolish to use the 2" block while 4 wheeling? I dont want to run into any issues so far from home. I'll be installing sumo 1500# rated springs to act as extended bump stops to prevent bottoming out the shocks. From my rough measurements I should be ok for heights, I'm just weary of the blocks.
    Next Tuesday I have
replacement cam bolts (Moog problem solver greasable)
Full set down to gas tank RCI skids
A 250A bus bar to clean up positive connections
and differential breather mod. All needs to get done before the trip.

    first off HELL YA

Second off for your rear suspension, the blocks are said to prematurely sag out the leafs but thats no biggy in terms of getting home. As long as your shocks don't bottom out before you hit bump your fine. Thats regardless of the lift you have. If you bottom out the shock first it will blow eventually. Reason we have bumps....and also to stop metal on metal. Issue with spacers is people run them with stock suspension. because the stock suspension doesn't travel that extra two or three inches then it just bottoms out before it can hit the stock bump. Some kits now have extended bumpstops to prevent this from happening.

    hope that helps

Thanks dude. Makes me feel a little better. Now I'm anxious to see how high my rear actually gets after the skids and all. Also excited to be able to load the SHIT out of the bed and not have it sag like a full diaper.
