Sweet thanks for update. Quick question about the water pump and winter, what action needs to be taken if weather drops below freezing and there's water in the pump? Will it ice and expand and damage pump?

 

Great question! Actually not the first time ivw been asked that. I guess living in SoCal its not a concern i ever had but apparently cold weather exists outside of this miserable state haha.

But yes, there are winter storage procedures included with the pump from the manufacturer directly. Allowing water to feeeze inside will likely cause damage and also voids your 4 year warranty on the pump. Ill take a picture of that advisory and upload it tonight so you can get an idea.

Im pretty sure that if you just let it run dry really good so its not full and primed then a few small drops of water left over won't damage the pump if they feeeze BUT to be safe and maintain warranty, i think it says to remove the pump and store it. But ill double check tonight after i get home from work

 

This website is such a blessing and a curse. So many badass things to buy for these trucks. I could seriously justify this...I think

 

Lol i feel your pain! I think we all do. Ive spent farrr too much from this website myself. After building this kit, its one of those things i wish i had done first because of how useful and practical it is. Really just depends on your needs though. Its one of those things that wont make your truck look cool, but its pretty safe to say that itll be used more then sliders and lightbars haha.

@CaliDevilDoc did a quick search for "non toxic potable antifreeze" and found this... $6.99 at bass pro. Plenty of other brands at other stores too. Just needs to be nom corrosive and safe on plastic and rubber and obviously approved for drinking water systems
