The inside cab temp on my 07 prerunner access cab seems very hot.Its like immediately stuffy and hot when windoes go up. Outside temp is not that hot for my area. Other people have commented to ne about it. Are these trucks all that way

Mine gets pretty toasty so I usually crack my windows a little with my WeatherTech Window Deflectors to let some of that stank out. Only downside so far is the occasional mosquito that finds its way in.

Are you thinking some of the engine heat is seeping in somehow through the vents?

Tinted windows make a huge difference. I have 20% front and rear and my wife has no tint on her Matrix. My truck stays way cooler than her car.

It's a truck with no insulation and lots of greenhouse.

Park it in the sun for 30 minutes and it will be 40* over ambient inside.

Nothing wrong, just use the AC.

Factory tint does not block out heat or block uv rays I have suntek xp 35% tint on all my 4 doors and back window blocks out 53% of the hot texas heat.

Factory is smoked glass, not tinted glass.

It doesn't offer anything but privacy.

Yeah, I have a 4 door. The windows are dark enough to where you can barely see inside the truck. I would always have to roll the windows down at night when trying to reverse. I changed out the reverse bulbs to brighter ones and it fixed that problem. I've been in 100 degree weather with the AC on and I feel like putting a sweater on. On my wife's car in 100 degree weather with the AC on, it feels like if the AC is not on at all. The direct sunlight is what gets you.

here's a pic to get an idea of the darkness of the tint

Tint makes a giant difference... Mine has none and it is often bloody hot in there during summer even with the AC full blast. It doesn't help that the Tacoma has the WEAKEST blower motor out of any vehicle I've ever been in either lol.

You do have to be mindful of the fact that some states do regulate the amount of tint you can legally have on your windows. Any good tint shop will know those regs...

I noticed a big improvement from just tinting the 2 door windows in my access cab. I went with the legal limit of 35% so I'm not hassled by THE MAN. :)

5% on back windows, 35% on doors, and 50% on entire windshield have helped tremendously. I'm potentially going a little darker on the doors and windshield to help out with the heat even more

There's a lot of glass in these trucks, meaning lots of area for sunlight to get in. Also, don't underestimate diffuse sunlight, it can be nearly as hot as direct sunlight.
