    Drive up route 7 from Connecticut all the way to Vermont then cut across N.H. and into northern Maine and have fun.
    Bring plenty of extra gas.

    my uncle lives off a 15 mile logging road north of Moose Head Lake (totally off the grid) and we run around there ALL the time as a kid, and I will say, that is where I fell in love with off road driving.
