I will tell you this, the gear swap is probably the best and most significant mod I have done. Made SUCH a difference. In a few months when I am able to add some boost to the truck, I'm sure I'll love the gears even more

I can definitely tell I'm in need.. have been for some time. In retrospect.. I would have done gears before boost.. BUT.. that's just how the cards fell. cant wait till they are done.. I know my wife is waiting too.. she hates all the diff fluid stains I've been leaving everywhere. lol

you are opting for 4.56, right? I had one choice, 4.88's but glad I went that route. With my truck, I don't think the 4.56's would have made much of a difference

I haven't driven a 3rd gen but it seems like the 4.88's would be a better match with the engine/transmission combo of that truck.

It truly is a perfect combo for it. Especially with my big, heavy ass tires. It's a totally different truck now.

yeeeeeah sticking to 4.56's.. will be a little overgeared for a bit.. but thats ok.. cuzperformance.

Kind of want to drive it around once to see how much it helps. May have to do a regear one day

You can camp right on the lake at Roosevelt, but it gets packed. There are also a couple of places accessible at Apache by vehicle, but the best spots are by boat only. That's all I got from my limited experience in the area.

Bear Canyon Lake is one of my favorite spots, you can find sweet camp spots all around the lake within walking distance to the water. It's a little bit of a drive to get there, but it's cool, peaceful and up in the pines. Can't really ask for more!

I don't care about how high I rev with 4.56 on 33s, the power is just absolutely amazing to pre-gear.

I am in same situation, 4.56 gears 33" skinny tires, auto trans. Compared to stock 3.73 gears it is like I gained 50 ft/lbs torque without lifting the hood.

Got my bike all cleaned this morning and notice another source of oil. Further investigation shows that the front crankcase shaft seal is bad. Another trip to GoAZ. I was planning to replace the alternator belt anyways. Got in there and discovered I am one of the lucky few with a boxer motor that has a rotary breather tube that has to be removed to get to the alternator belt. Glad I learned this in my garage and not the side of the road doing an emergency belt replacement without a 19mm wrench. I guess I get to go to Sears and pickup a few wrenches.

This has been a great learning experience, I feel like I could do almost anything to this bike now. Luckily I have the Triumph, so I am not missing out on this great summer riding weather.
