Welcome! If you're reading this, you've fallen for a very elaborate ruse to lure you into a realm of total BS, memes, and sexual uncertainty. But, as the ruler of this domain, I am not without mercy. I shall weave you a yarn the likes of which are not often seen in this sea of tire size questions and lightbar wiring diagrams. This narrative will wind through the knee deep thicket of love, prance through the meadows of lust, clash with the tides of defeat, and lock steel with the ever-present yearning for adventure! Like all good tales, this is, at its core, a love story. A forbidden love between a man and his despised bride: the third gen Tacoma, scourge of the earth, scorned by all. Let us now venture into this wild tale together, friends.

The Mighty Steed: 2016 Toyota Tacoma TRD Offroad Double Cab Short Bed, Inferno
Options: Manual Transmission, Tow Package, and that's it because I'm poor.

Pre-ownership musings: I wanted a standard because I get bored with automatics really fast. I want to feel engaged in driving the car. I'm happy with my choice since it let me dodge all the tranny troubles the third gens had. I specifically got a third gen because local newer second gens were still just as expensive, and I honestly drastically prefer the 3rd gen front end. Second gens were really starting to show their age. My first color was quicksand, inferno was the second. After owning the truck, I've decided that the inferno should have been my first choice, because the more I see of the quicksand the less I like it.

The Beginning: In May of 2016, after 5 months (not exaggeration) of searching, the Gods saw fit to bless me with a basic Inferno TRD OR with a standard, tow package, and nothing else. Or so I thought- the dealer ended up trying to add on those gawdy ass predator steps for $800 extra. I said to take them off and return the truck to the form I had already negotiated through the internet sales department. They said no, we'll give them to you for free. They drove a hard bargain! Ultimately I kept them, then bent one and took them off later. They currently sit in my garage. With the option set that I wanted, a sticker price that wasn't terrible (MSRP: right at 32, I ain't scared to say), and my employee discount in hand, I took the lady home.

    newtruck.jpg

In the time since then, we've gone on 20,000 30,000 40,000 miles of adventures and changes. Below, I will detail the changes, and always try to keep an updated picture of the truck.

The real play was smashing one of the original reverse lights and telling them I found broken glass in the pizza

During and after. Now the back of truck doesn't look like poopy when I'm reversing. Of course, nobody behind me at night will even tell cause they'll be blind AF

Yeah they're on a 3 way switch. They can be off, come on with the reverse lights, or be on whenever I tell them to be. I usually just leave them set to be on reverse. Matt's a wiring genius and fixed that all up real good.

I like electricity too. Makes me feel ALIIIIIVE!

Need to get my flush mounts in my bumper, doubt it's before RRG though. Having clearance issues. And need a 3-way switch also.
Also want to clean up wiring while I'm at it. Install a fuse block, etc.
