pretty much what i've come too as well. rimrock was the closest to a middle i could find, but again not the route i wanted. powering through may be the best option, but i'd like to have a backup just in case.

    Are floor mats a mod?
lake mayfield resort about 1/2 hr east of the castle rock exit 1 or 2 exits before you get to great wolf going north on I5. Then you could drive next morning up thru Elba, which is a very pretty drive, come out on Meridian in Puyallup, 167 to 405, etc..About 1.5 hr drive from mayfield to auburn, so not much slower as long as u don't hit meridian at rush hour in the morning. Stop in Morton and have breakfast so u miss the rush.
lake mayfield resort is a pay campground, but ur just gonna flop for the nite, so....

If you can make a full day of it, I think so.

The day pass isn't cheap at $45, but if you hang out all day, get a class or two in, and stick around for the bonfire maybe you'll win something to offset that cost.

There's plenty of room to set up a ground tent. Quite a few people do it.

Here's the schedule. To me it looks like Saturday would be the better day. I plan on doing the intermediate/advanced 4WD training, maybe watching the advanced multi-point winching (since I don't have a winch on this thing)and talking my wife into the ladies thing at 15:00.

We are packed into the far corner of the not quite so quiet area. At the end of the day parking area, more or less. I'm not sure which number
