Jeez, that stinks. Don't know the truck but sounds as thought the driver could certainly use a talking to!
Seems like people are in such a rush & so self absorbed these days...pity.

Hi guys, thought I'd introduce myself, new to TW. I'm at La Cumbre & Foothill, work downtown SB, grew up in Goleta. I have a 1997 green 4x4 access cab with 250k miles that's beat to hell and a 2012 Sport 4x4 Access Cab on the way. I've done a few overlanding trips and look forward to many more! I also ride, 2006 VFR800. If you ride and you're not already on the Santa Barbara Street Rides Facebook page you should join!

Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks for all of the exploration point of interest recommendations! Really do appreciate it, and I'm now thinking Laurel Lakes!

It's not quite what you seem to be on the lookout for but I figured I'll mention it...! I have a 13 R1 I'm selling. Pretty modded out!

Laurel Lakes is beautiful but be sure to check whether the road in is open/safe to drive with how much snow they got

Thanks, but yeah, I'm avoiding super sports. I had a Ninja 636 which was more than enough crotch rocket for me. I'm looking for upright positioning nowadays with a good windshield on a sport tourer.

I think I know where he lives. i will check

Theres still too much snow. And fyi to anyone who hasnt been, the end of that trail is pretty scary, someone went off the shelf road and died a few years back. But that entire area especially the lakes is amazing and I wanna camp there.

Bring bug spray in summer. The mosquitos are gnarly at dusk on the water.
I hiked that trail because I had my VW van at the time. Beautiful!

Did you catch any fish? I didnt bring much tackle so had limited options but could see dozens of fish following my lure.

Yeah those last switchbacks are super sketch. I wasnt sure if it was doable in a 2nd gen so I hiked down. Did you have to 3 point turn?

Pretty sure I did at that spot. This was about 10 months ago so I don't know what it's like now, but at the time it wasn't bad. You should definitely go down next time you're there.

Set up a trip after the snow melts!

We had the lake all to ourselves this trip. All campsites empty. It was awesome!

I got smoked too in both lakes! I ended up catching a tiny guy in the stream between the two...

I did, but since I was hiking, I released back in the lake. I used bait worms with much success.
