    I didn't realize that you were 10th Mountain Div! My bff's husband and brother in law are also and they're who I'm visiting out here at Fort Drum. We've spent some time on base the last couple days touring their work places and taking a peek at their birds.

    Yup, it's right there in my avatar. I like that area up there this time of year. Winter is a different story. Outdoor paradise in the warmer months, deep freeze in the winter.

    I mean, I'd obviously seen your avatar before, just never connected it before now. I've looked at the patch a thousand times this week....

    It's amazing up here right now! Absolutely gorgeous! I definitely know I wouldn't enjoy it as much during the winter. Not a snow person....

    And actually, not the helicopters, though I've seen quite a few of those this week too. They're actually UAV operators.

    I love the snow, but -30 or so starts to wear on you.

    UAV's, nice. Didn't have those in my days. I left there in 1995. I was infantry, unit was triple deuce, 2nd battalion, 22 infantry.

    Yeah, last winter was their first here and it was rough. Particularly for the southern boy who's used to the Texas heat....

    My boys are 6th Squadron, 6th Cavalry. We spent a lot of time on base while I was here. Met a lot of awesome soldiers.
