It won't seem that bad when you take a ride in it. Your mind subconsciously wants to like it. Do the work and drive it everyday for a year. That's what will change your mind.

This. Don't even have a cage, but everytime someone complains about noisy bypasses or squeaky leafs or something, I'm like I don't hear shit, I just keep the radio up at a decent level and never hear anything

I don't like noisy cars but I'm not sensitive to it and won't sacrifice performance for it. I'll just buy a second car

Well I won't be starting whatever route I decide to go for a little while so hopefully I'll have a chance to ride in someone's truck before then so I can better figure out what I want to do.

It's not bad without bypasses. If you have them, yes it's loud. Just do what I did, buy a 1990 diahatsu charade from your 99 year old neighbor for 1300 bucks. 65k miles and 40+ mpg. Problem solved

This. My truck is quiet without bypasses, or maybe I am just used to the added noise so it seems quiet lol

Well that's good to know. I'm maintaining the bed and won't tie into any sort of rear bed cage. And don't have any bypasses yet, though I plan on upgrading my rear to them next year

Been thinking about long travel for a long time. Is it a lit better ride for a dd. I kept breaking my torsion bars up front on long offroad trips, and like the coil over conversion. But concerned about the weight it can handle. I put a lot of weight on my truck while offroading. Got a nearly broken in 93 pre taco.

One of the best investments I made on that truck along with the 9". Everyone loves my exhaust but it's fucking loud when you're on it and screaming along at 5000+ RPM in third

My bypasses in comparison to others are super quiet. Kings are loud AF

This is for King, but the basic procedure should be about the same, I would bet there are guides specific to Fox floating around too, just have to find them.

Step 17 says to charge the reservoir with a small amount of nitrogen to set the IFP against the hose-end of the reservoir prior to filling with oil.

Hell I drove this girl's caged STI on a 200 mile cruise to the mountains and it was annoying as eff. Whenever I drive the prerunner I want to shoot myself when I don't' have headphones on. All the pivots are uniballs so they screech constantly and the bypasses shatter echoes through the cage tons! It's one of the biggest reasons why I don't want to cage the Tacoma. I have a daily driver but I'll sometimes alternate between the two on driving duties.

smashed this, broke that, covered it up with tape and paint
Does that noise issue typically apply to bed cage only set ups as well?

I don't have a desire for a full caged truck but have been working towards having the rear bed caged for the shocks

No added noise from just a bed cage other than the noise from rear suspension components. What everyone is talking about is how an internal roll cage allows all of those noises to travel right to your dome like 2 kids playing with a string and some solo cups
