What's my truck worth?

If this isn't allowed let me know and I'll delete.

I'm trying to decide if I want to sell my truck and get a new one or just keep this one for a while longer, but I'm not sure what it's really worth. Here's the details:

    '95 Pickup/Tacoma
    '97 3.4L V6
    '97 Factory TRD Supercharger

    220 something on the odo
170 something on the 97 engine
    80 something on the SC

    ARB front & rear bumpers
2-3 inches lift?? Not sure how much really

So there's that, there are a couple of issues.
*The AC has just gone out, but I got a parts list from the dealership and parts needed are a bit less than $400 from rockauto.
*An emissions code is thrown every once in a while. Could be gas cap, could be charcoal canister... I just clear the code and move on, drives fine and from what I've read not a code to worry about. Worst thing that happens is the mpg goes down a tad.
*A few dents from a recent hail storm in Denver on the hood and roof, also caused some clear coat to pop off in a few areas.

There is no rust and it runs great! Never abused. I have all receipts for the engine swap.

So I guess I'm just trying to decide if it's worth selling with the money I have into it (~11K total, truck and upgrades) or if I should just keep on driving it forever. I'm kind of indifferent either way. New trucks are always fun, but there's just something about an old truck, I'm sure you all know what I mean. Could I get some input on possible value? Thanks!

Unless you are selling lemon or rust bucket with tons of hidden problems you will never get what it is worth for you or get back the money you put into it. I'd say keep it or sell accepting the loss.

Oh I know I won't get near the 11K mark... Perfectly willing to sell at a loss, just curious how much of a loss it'd have to be if I did sell it.

Call your carrier and ask how much they'd pay out if it should be totaled.

Call a CU and ask how much they'd loan a good credit customer on it. If anything, it may be too old.

Those will give you some sense of 'value'. Yeah, I know 'marketplace' what some one will pay, etc etc. But there are other valid points to consider.

Personally, if it meets your needs, I'd just keep it rolling. It's a nice looking truck, you know what you have, and no payments!

I'm not kidding though. These farmers love the dependability and 4wd for the hills. My brother-in-law sold his '95 Tacoma with 250,000+ miles (rough shape but rebuilt motor) for $5k

^^^ This. Buying used car is always a gamble. Selling your used car is always a loss. Keeping your paid off car is win win.

Isn't that a pre-tacoma toyota? Tacoma rear windows don't drop below the front door windows. CMIIW.

Yep, it's technically the Toyota Pickup or Toyota Half Ton as my insurance company calls it. Most people just don't know what I'm talking about if I just say Toyota Pickup.

    OK.

Interesting that the service writer at my dealer was telling me that he worked on the line assembling Toyota trucks in the '90s, and when the Tacoma came along, they all saw it as big step in quality from the prior trucks. I guess when it comes to the frame they were right. Little did they know that all the other manufacturers had or were taking even bigger steps down.
