Everyday acceleration, I mean its not bad but its defiantly something you will have to get used to it is smooth just needs more or its just me being picky. I do not tow much, sometimes a car now and then on a trailer but the torque makes up for it. You will not have issues with shifting. When I am on the freeway my truck will stay in 6th gear even passing on the freeway I can roll into the throttle and it wont shift due to the torque doing all the work.

Looks like it doesn't come with a long bed. This model is tried and true in regards to the auto tranny and 4.0 engine? Does 31900 sound reasonable?

I test drove a canyon diesel when I was shopping trucks, it was nice,.. but I didn't like the looks as much as the Taco, and the price for that diesel put it out of my range. :(

The Mustang is no joy to see out of either. High doors, the rear window, bucket seats, and tall hood.

That's one of the reasons I traded my 14 manual 2nd gen for a 17 Pro auto! It pulls my 3300 pnd 19ft boat with no issues! IMO it does a better job then the 2nd gen, much smoother with the auto. I also have to back the boat up a 150 ft inclined driveway, so not burning a clutch at every outing is also a plus. The boat ramp is a piece of cake now as well.

Yes, I understand. Oh well, there's trade offs for everything in life. I'll certainly have to get a better trailer, but I like my trailer because it's so light I can take it off and push it around easy.

Does a 4x sheet fit in the bed? I'm seriously considering the Pro X. Why Pro X verses a long bed?

Vinyl letter insets for tailgate. Garmin CS60 GPS mounting. Other misc décor in the form of decals.
    Such mixed reviews.
Bought my '16 TRD Off Road Access cab Dec 2015. Now has 15,500 miles on it. Auto tranny.
I put the truck in drive, and leave it there unless maybe tangling with the hills, or towing. I never
use the ECT engaged unless I'm towing.
Everyday driving which is largely around town, Im clocking about 20mpg. When Im towing the Chalet,
    I clock about 16-17mpg.
My enjoyment of this truck rates about 9/10, and I'd buy it again no question.
Oh, and by the way, I have NOT had any of the transmission software updates done.

Yes, I'll have to live with it. I probably have 6 years of wood stored anyway.:)

Not sure about 4 foot sheet fitting in bed. Maybe someone else can chime in on that. Why the Pro verses longbed....need a double cab plus not until the length with the DC-long bed. The DC/long bed combo is a hard find if you don't have one ordered as well. FYI the Pro dosent come but anything other then a DC short bed.
Also, it's just a "Pro" no X in the name...

    OP,

Most of us who hate (or hated) our Tacomas came out of 2nd gen Tacomas. We feel (felt) as if the new model was a step backwards.

Many of the guys on here that are die-hard fans came out of other vehicles. I'm sure you, coming out of a 4.0 tundra, will see nothing but improvements.

A sheet of plywood fits fine above the fenders and there's cleats along the side of the bed you can put 2x in to make a nice little shelf. Don't get too hung up about 2ft of plywood hanging off the back. Unfortunately if you're hauling sheetrock... may want to put plywood under it.

Oh, sorry, I'm goofed up. I'm referring to the Nissan Pro-4X and you must be referring to a Tacoma Pro.

I just like the Pro-4x the most, the SV and SL are nice too if you aren't needed an offroad truck, those come with the long bed.
