Like some of the 3rd gens my differential has started leaking. Any one else have this problem with their 2nd gen? At first it was a couple drops a day, but now it's leaving a puddle every time it's parked for a few hours. if this rare fit a 2nd gen?

Where is the leak coming from? Might seem dumb but have your checked your drain bolt? Might need to be re-torqued.

Get a new gasket for it if that is the problem, i think its only a couple of bucks. Do it yourself or go to a dealer man:thumbsup:

If it looks like this then yah new gasket. Also tell them to put gasket sealer around the outside of the gasket for extra assurance. Lemme see if i still have the picture of this gasket.

Sorry to hear that. I rebuilt my front diff but not because of a bad seal. Not sure what can be done for that. Hopefully you won't need a new axle as another poster mentioned, but I would have it looked at before more damage is done, as it is likely that could become the case.

Was going to ask the same exact thing. Sometimes it's easy to overlook the obvious things.

I keep adding oil so nothing else is damaged, I just hope it's not fortunate to replace a $2 part

I did replace my pin seal when I rebuilt mine but only because it came with the kit. I am not mechanically inclined but I was able to do it, although it took me forever.

Also doesn't the TRDOR have a bigger diff in the the rear compared to the rest of the Tacomas. Like 8in vs 8.5 or 8.7?
