Aftermarket alarm. They probably pulled the fuse when they didn't get fob when traded in.

I'm thinking Audiovox makes several different alarms. Some with remote start, some without, and they all use that same valet switch/LED. Before you get all giddy about remote start, check the number on the box.

Could be a starter interrupt/ kill switch...push it then try and start your Taco..if it dont start push it and try to start..if it starts mystery solved ...if all else fails follow the wires....

Most likely an after market alarm system.. go outside at night, look in the window and see if it's blinking

Didn't read thru so may have already been posted but I have the same little light (or similar) drill ed thru one of the faux buttons. It is my after market alarm indicator light. Blinks when it is armed. Funny enough, I have had the truck for 4 years and bought it used with the alarm. Just found out the other day, while frantically clicking the buttons trying to get it unlocked (batteries were dying in the FOB), that I have remote start! Wish I would have known that for the freezing ass mornings in 4 winters plus the snowpocalypse of Portland Oregon this last winter. Epic facepalm for me. But I will be using it this summer to fire up my truck with AC ready and blasting since I just moved to Southern Oregon.

Yea my aunt had tried that too , she wasn't watching her fancy backup camera and the fancy system that tells you when you are too close to a object AND SHE RAN INTO A POLE parking her fancy Lexus SUV

Nothin wrong with old school , I don't pull a trailer or camper yet but I use my mirrors for backing up and parking .

    Hell ya !

Most likely a valet switch for an aftermarket alarm.

The 2015 Tacoma that I just got, the previous owner took out the AC inverter switch and replaced it with a light bar switch, there were plenty of blanks that he/she could have used. Not sure why they did it, but now my AC outlet in the bed doesn't work!

Not even sure what to think of that. It likely took more work to disable and re-wire it than use the blank.

It's not aftermarket. Mine has the same thing and I've looked it up before. Let me see if I can find it again.

Correct. I think it's a "gulf state" package. I have the manual for it in my owners manual folder.

Haha I had a similar experience when I got my 1st gen a year or 2 ago
It had a after market switch in the dash and I looked it up on here and from here I though rear locker I was so psyched but dissapointed when no locker light came on

Then I thought maybe it was for the "fog lights" I hadn't realized was signal lights when I clicked the switch and no fog lights came on ( feel pretty stupid I only realized thru my safety inspection this past march they were signals )

I had no idea until one day I was driving to work and a guy asked me how in the hell do you drive with your reverse lights on and sure enough the switch turns on/off my reverse lights
