FWIW, the high transmission temp warning seems to be common (for those with auto tranny) when the CPS shits the bed. It's been mentioned several times on TW.

Edit: when the CPS cannot deal with the shitty crank rotor with too much anti-corrosion coating on it.

    Cheers,

    Frank

sucks you are having issues but good that you are on the recall list. If you weren't and had the CPS issue that would be worrisome

Just took my truck in on Saturday to get an oil change and other maintenance and got hit with the double whammy recall. At least they gave me a Yaris to replace my work truck. Reading about how many other people are in my same position, I guess I should be thankful that Toyota is taking the effort to fix this issue. However, to take away my WORK truck for god knows how long and then stick me with a Yaris is a slap in the face. I understand that the dealer is doing the best they can in light of this issue, but hey, I can't be the only person suffering from the lack of a service vehicle. At least I get visitation rights to my truck.

I was given a 2017 Tacoma with 2 miles on it yesterday. I get to compare my problems to a new truck. I can't wait until they tell me 'they all do it' My 2016 truck has the drive line vibrations, and they keep telling me it's normal, all the trucks do it... My loaner car doesn't have it.

I would let the dealership know they gave you a work CAR. And ensure them you wouldn't treat it any different then your own TRUCK.

Sorry I haven't read the thread. Has anyone dropped their truck off and gotten it back yet? I've been out of the country for several months and last thing I want to do is come home and have my truck held hostage -___-

Two days isn't horrible. I read on Reddit someone was saying 2-6 months.... I'm not sure for which recall though. My 2016 is on both lists, unfortunately.

Mine also. I wasn't concerned about the leaking diff, because mine is dry, but have been closely following the CPS, since I was pretty sure I had one of the bad ones, 10/15 TX build. I am scheduled to go in tomorrow for my 20K service. My dealerships told me the CPS fix will not be done at this time because they don't have the part, and since my diif is dry, I will be able to drive my truck home tomorrow. So looks like they are not impounding the truck for CPS, only if your diff is leaking AND you are on the recall list for it.
    Good luck with yours.

I would wait on bringing it in unless you think it is going to fail. Looks like the diff fix is slowly coming online, but you might have your truck impounded if you bring it in now. Again, good luck with that.

Dealer just called, they still don't know exactly what is caused the stalling - no codes. But being that is on the recall list, they are going to replace the CPS. I don't know if this will be considered a fix for the recall or if they are just going to replace it with a new stock part. They won't have a part until next week, so they'll have my truck for the weekend. I'll update next week with outcome of this.

Wait....my 2016 has been at my dealers since May 08, for the rear diff recall with No Fix.. now they are telling me mid July it should have a fix...and now this new recall...it's been over 30 days...can I qualify for Lemon Law?? Yes, they gave me a loaner Camry but, I drive a work truck and this Camry is not a work truck... If I qualify for Lemon Law, I'm all over it...give me a 2017 !!!
