Except instant. Blech.

 

Starbucks via instant isn't Terribleif backpacking. Otherwise most instant is gross. I've got a French press thing for my jet boil, but it's a pain and unnecessary if trying to keep weight down. The via packets are convenient and light.

 

Meh. The percolator is worth its weight to me, even if I'm backpacking. It's handy for boiling all sorts of liquids, since you can put it right on to the fire. And it takes up minimal room because I usually stuff it with packets of instant oatmeal, hot cocoa, clean socks, etc. for the trip in.

 

I could never figure out the camping ones. Thing would boil over and make an ungodly mess or it wouldn't perk... arrrrggggggh

 

I had a crappy one that would do that. The one I have now works perfectly. I think some of the cheap ones aren't set up well to actually percolate or, if you get them too hot, they'll just boil over like any pot of water left on the stove.

 

Mine is a nice SS unit. I also have an enameled one that isn't as nice and doesn't perk as well over a camp fire, but it works fine on a camp stove, so I think you may be right about the quality making a difference.

 

Sock coffee mmmmm

 

I don't drink black coffee, but most people look like they are drinking coffee milk

 

Meh. I'll have a little 1/2 and 1/2 in iced coffee but that's it.

 

Sock monkeys need caffeine too!

 

Depending on where I get the coffee from, I'll usually only add 1 cream, and maybe some sugar.

 

I really do prefer my coffee black like my soul, but occasionally if I'm having iced coffee I'll throw a shot of Kahlua and a shot of Bailey's in there too.

 

Almost... friday... just need to make it without snapping.

 

Go make something in the machine shop! Helps me clear my mind doing some manual machining

 

I wish - I'm stuck behind a desk doing design work on a laptop that is NOT capable of handling any cad.. took me 2 hours to put in another service request for a new 'high end mobile workstation'.....

 

Aren't the system requirements pretty damn low for cad....?

 

That sounds like a major pain in the balls. I'm just curious, what does the shop have for machines?
