Coldest water I've ever been in was in pinectrst. Where the rivers meets the lake in April.

There is cold...and then there is darn near kill you cold. I have been an avid (some would say rabid) backpacker for years and have gone into water with ice floating in it but this is body of water almost took my life...

Mirror Lake on the Mt Whitney trail elevation a bit above 10,000ft. I spent about a half an hour looking for a way to get to a rock so I could dive in, but thank God it wasn't possible. So I just pushed off from the bank with instructions to my partners that if I got into trouble they were in no way to go in after me. I went about 8 feet from the bank and almost didn't make it back to the shore. Had I dove off that rock I would not have made it back to shore. The water was so cold that in literally seconds I could not stand up. Scared the c#*p outa me.

    Yeah it was a dare.

Then later that day my buddy saved my life because thanks to some liquid courage I thought I could jump across the the rocks on the back side of the damn while they were letting hella water out. I didn't make it and somehow managed to hold onto the face of the rock on the other side long enough (10 seconds) for my buddy to reach down and pull me up.

No fucks given when your 17 and drunk till you almost die.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

I just checked the flow rates and they are less then half of what they were on the last trip.

Awesome, really pushing the wife to make it a family trip. Couldn't think of a better 1st bday for my daughter than waking up with a bunch of NorCal freaks in the woods.

I was up there this past weekend and it was still going pretty strong. I'd be down to hike and find a shallow spot to throw in some lines and wade. Granted I'm not shit faced for science.

Little this. Little that 4x4 Swap’d PreRunner
Stoked for this. Will have the dog for sure, maybe the wife, not sure yet.

Also, For the sac people, have we set up a convoy or meet-up place? I'm right off HWY 16 and sunrise. Or there's the Chevron in Rancho Murrieta that's easy for everyone going down.

Shall we set up a 'pre-meet'?

Really? I was in 4LO, locked, with ATRAC on. Probably because I pulled a Michael Scott into the mud bog following the Gaia map.

I was hoping to go up on Thursday but it looks like I might have to work. Maybe I'll just leave after work and roll in late.
