help! rear shocks question

    Curt hitch, OBX Shift
    Gas charged shocks would expand, standard shocks without a gas charge would remain at whatever position you put them in. All shocks have the dampening oil and special valving to resist upward and downward travel uniquely, for the intended ride characteristics. I'd get the metal sleeves for inside the rubber bushings if the bolts you are using do not fit tight in the unsleeved bushings.

    so i finally did it
    i got a lime green dust cover too
    here is the picture of what the sleeve looks like before i cut it
    i have no after shots

    i just measured it and cut it with a band saw i believe
    the machine with teh circular saw that goes up and down so you make a straight cut
    after the cut i filed the sides so its smoother
    put some grease in the bushings and then pressed them in
    and wala a sleeve
    i bought it at home depot
    its called
    3/8 x3" galvanized steel pipe nipple
    i just basically cut the threads off and a little bit more
