just over 350 hp. made 65 mph with two other people in the boat. could probably get to 70 or just over with just one person, and the tower folded down. verified it with the gps and the built in speedo that uses a pressure sensor built into the outdrive.

A 47ft w/ 400hp Volvo does 8 knots on a good day 6 if we are tanked. The skiff will do 50+ knots with a 200hp Yamaha.

26' Chapparal Sunesta.... i think its running like 380hp on a Volvo Penta... in smooth water with low fuel we have gotten it up to 67mph with two people in it.... if we didnt have the tower though we could probably get it to liike 70-73mph

Panda is that on the speedo or gps?

I've had mine to about 45mph(49 on dreamometer) not pushing her but I bet on an ideal day and prop I would bet she'll get a tad over 50.

It HAS to be the speedo....Fastest that boat can go with the largest engine (according to Boating magazine tests), is about 50 to 51 mph.

This conversation is the same with motorcycles... Everybody on a 600 thinks they can do 180, and everybody on a thousand 200...... nope... better luck next time. the speedometer on my motorcycle is literally like 15% over actualy speed. only geared down one tooth. boats, jetskis, all the same way.

Impressive! What prop and ratio do you have?

Yeah. I thought that sounded crazy fast for that size boat with that engine. Maybe he's got those cleaver props with like a 35 pitch though:D

LOL! Yeppo! My Buddy SWORE he was doing 70 mph on his Jet Ski (Speedo showed 70), But I paced him with my boat, and at 45, his speedo said he was going 55...... I couldnt pace any higher, as Mine wont go much faster unless I put my new prop on...

Yours should have no problem hitting 50 in a little bit of chop. Maybe a little higher.

I think (not positive) that it had a 16x16 when i got it, which is the prop i use for wakeboarding or lotsa weight. the other one which is great for fuel economy or speed is 15x19?? sounds right. its rainy outside, or else i'd check. Its a really light boat, keel tank for good weight distribution.

Yeah according to similar boats. What's different about my drive though is it has a 1.97:1 ratio while the standard for that size and engine is 1.66:1. I've got a 23 pitch prop on there and all the calculators online say I should go faster. The reason I don't want to push it is because my tach says at full throttle I'm hitting 5200 but I think it needs to be calibrated or I need to reprop to a higher pitch. I should only be hitting 4600 at wot.
