I can stream movies... sometimes they buffer a little with 7mbps down. The more, the faster it is... so 40mbps is plenty fast other than for people who do crazy stuff while downloading terrabytes of movies.

 

I've come to realize i have an issue of buying expensive things then tearing them apart..



These things are actually used on hogs... Guess that's where the name comes from.



Seat heater is coming tomorrow... I'm ready! Picked up the bracket today so it'll be in tomorrow, as long as i can catch the mail person.

 

The seat heater arrived, installed it in the seat then went to town getting it into the truck.

Bolted right in just like stock. Lost maybe an inch in height but feels comfortable.




I also gained some room behind the seat since it's not as thick as the stock one.

The whole assembly i would say is roughly about the same weight as the stock one. A lot less bulky, probably a few pounds lighter but nothing to write home about.

 

What base/bracket did you use to mount the seat?

Only thing I had to find was a grade 8 bolt for attaching the female part of the seatbelt to the bracket. @iRideMTB had one from his sliders that worked perfect.

 

Thanks. What did you do for the airbag sensors?

 

They gone. As far as I know, there are no easy ways to fool it, and the last thing I wanted to do was mess around with resistors when I removed the passenger side, so there was not a functioning airbag system before I took out the drivers side. Just left the SRS harness disconnected. The airbag light is always on.

 

It was too nice last night not to test out the Enlightened Equipment bag. I pulled the mattress out onto the patio and slept out there. Temps were in the low 50s, light breeze. It was a little chilly with just a tshirt on. I opened up the bag to be a quilt and the second I got under it I was instantly warm. With my other 10 degree bag, it takes a minute for you to warm up the bag, but this was as soon as you were shielded. I stayed warm all night, a few times a little too warm, but I approve! another nice thing is I could put it over my head in the morning and its light enough that you can still breathe, it doesn't collapse on you. Its not cheap, but it was well worth it, would buy again for sure.

 

I think this is the last big mod before the trip.

Time to go hit the whoops.

 

Installed the extended 2.5 Kings front and rear as well as the icon Delta joint UCAs. I figured since the suspension was going to be pretty well dialed in, i would ditch the sway bar.

Install went well, minor bending of the fender wells and both UCAs went in pretty easily compared to stuff I've heard. Thanks for all the help!



I set the fronts at about 22-1/2" fender to hub.

Driving it up the canyon it definitely has the initial sway but then seems to lock it up and not go very far. So it'll just take a little learning.

I bombed up the driveway at a very good clip since it's dirt and also decently rough due to getting torn up by the heavy snow storms and quick runoff. It was MUCH smoother, and the sway was there and I'll have to get used to it but I'm pretty thrilled with the difference on dirt.

 

Went to AT&T and got it activated. Popped it in and it worked! It'll be $25ish/mo after taxes...a steal for unlimited data. Going to a corporate store is advised, 800 number was quite a waste of time.

I think this'll be plenty good for my needs. Sure it'll go up and down depending where I'm at. That was in the bottom level of the belmar parking garage.

 

there is a rumor that the unlimited plan will end July of 2017.
Did they say anything about this?

Edit, guess we'll find out, I ordered the last one.

 

They didn't... But i think they are historically good about honoring/grandfathering people in with plans like this. So hopefully it's not an issue!

 

it'll be here the 28th, so I got 48 hours to get it activated.

Turns out these are leftover from the Canadian market. The US version supports up to 10 users and has slightly faster speeds. Canadian unit supports 5 users. But either way, if it actually works, I'll be cancelling the house wi-fi.

 

The one i got and linked to says 10 users/devices on the pw.. Not that it matters since I'll only need 3 at max.

 

well, that info did come from the internet, so take it with a grain of salt. The reviews are good, you got yours to work, so wtf.

 

Yeah and it seems to work all the time. So it'll help me from going over data on my cell plan which will be nice... Didn't think about that when i ordered it.

 

Generally a blinking light means a sensor is failing. Does the light go out or stay on solid? Rarely it means a receiver issue. Low tire pressure will just cause solid illumination.

 

That's what i figured. It goes out after it blinks. I've seen it twice now randomly.

 

I had squeaking coming from my driver side drum within the last two weeks out of nowhere, quite annoying squeaking so I opened it up today. It was pretty gouged (both the drum and shoe). There was plenty of pad life left, but the drivers side was dusty and lots of junk in there compared to the passenger side. Both sides seemed sealed, the star wheel cover is on, not sure why the drivers side had a ton of crap in there. I avoid mud at almost all costs (everything other than leaving the trail) and can probably count on half of one hand the times I've had to drive through it. I put new shoes on (pain in the ass), and waiting on the drums to be done. I was told 3:30-4 when I dropped them off. I called at 5:15 and was told they'd be done by 6, and they would call.... Hopefully they'll be done by 7 so I can put the truck back together tonight.
