    Yeah I took it to Lowes yesterday but they did not have the correct length. I'll try HD today before making the trip to Fastenal.

    Does anyone know the part # for the spark plug connector that attaches to the coil? I replaced my plugs & wires, and was unaware that it would not come with them. Are they replaceable, or do you have to replace the entire coil? Thanks for any input.

    Probably not available separately thru toyota but oreilly's or napa may have an A/M set of wires that comes with boots.. there is a supplier called Prenco that makes a kit like that but im not sure if they are available at oreillys.. we get ours thru a wholesale supplier..

    When you disconnect the battery. Do you have to take off both + & - ? I always diconnect the negative cable when I clean the MAF. But wasn't sure if you need to disconnect both.

    Sorry to revive old thread but don't want to make a new one. Has anyone encountered problems with the connection between the coils and new wires? My new wires don't fit well on the coils because the conducting material in the wire sticks out more than it did in my factory wires. (See pics below). I checked with Oreillys to make sure I have the right wires and I do. Other brand wires look the same way as well.

    That seems fuckey. I would take them back and get wires from the dealer or an online OEM supplier (camelback toyota, trdparts4u, conicelli toyota, etc)

    Good write up. Changed just my plugs. One note, the air tube is mo fo to get off. Loosening the clamps is not enough even when they are loose enough to spin on the tube they still hang up on ridge on the ends of the pipes. I changed my first spark plug when I was 12 back on the ranch. This is a major PITA....

    I registered on this site to thank you!

    I replaced my plugs and wires and it cleared my P0300, P0304, and P0306 engine error codes, enabling me to get a clean inspection. The auto parts store suggested replacing the ignition coils also. I ordered only one, because they're a little pricey for me now, but all of my ignition coils looked clean and in good condition, so I went ahead and replaced the one for cylinders number one and six, but kept the two old igntion coils in. I know it's best to replace all at once, but, long story short, I believe that my new NGK V-Power plugs and wires did the trick without the new ignition coil. At 251000 miles it is running like a new taco! I went ahead and sprayed and cleaned the throttle body air intake too, since I had the air ducts out of the way, so I'm sure that helped too, but I am so happy and relieved now. I can't thank you enough. Keep spreading the good word.

    I put factories at 0.044 in mine, 2.4L, and it ran ok. But I noticed the engine liked the 0.033 gap better. Some of the older manufacturers still make 0.033 gaped plugs for Toyota. Something to think about.
