Next Sunday one of my best friends from my hometown in Oregon is coming down for a week (he's here to see Iron Maiden with me on the 28th). Super hyped because it's been 10 years since he's been in AZ.

I plan on taking him wheeling/camping Sunday/Monday partially because he's never been 4x4ing in AZ and also because I don't want him to melt his face off.

Probably thinking north of Flagstaff... Suggestions welcome!

Also seeing if anyone else is planning on hitting Maiden and possibly meeting up to get properly motivated before the show. It's on a Wednesday night which kind of blows but I'm taking that whole week of because it's fucking Iron Maiden!

Seems like a few guys have had success running 34" tires (285/75R17) on 2nd gen 4WD Tacomas. What all is required/ I assume a cab mount chop (or relocate), is fender and fender flare trim required?

WTF no fatties. They need some 400 pounders up on the line. Yeah I hogged once or twice maybe seven or ten times in my life. Don judge me bro you don't know my life.
You know it's a fatty when I stop at the grocery store to buy flour.

Thank you for your service, a grateful nation of libo buddies appreciate those times that you selflessly sacrificed yourself by jumping on those grenades.

@2ndGenJonny is running that size. He can chime in with what he had to do.

I would imaging cab mount chop, fold pinch weld back, trimming at least inner fenders, and either beating the core supports or adjusting your bump stops so you don't hit at full bump

And then you'll probably still rub a little

I run them on my 3rd gen. Not all too different. CMC, flatten pinch weld and trim up some plastic. I'm also running 14" 700# springs on my Icons which give some added height

    Some stuff here and there....
I did the cab mount. Hammered the pinch weld down and that was really it. I waa running spacers so I had to cut the fender up about 2 inches in the rear. Giggity

I'm running that size. My wheel size is 17x8.5 with 4.3 bs. I did the CMC, pinch weld, and cut my fenders up 1 inch. It really comes down to the wheel specs to how much your going to trim. I know a few people that ran stock 17inch rim size with a 4.5 inch bs, and did barely any trimming. @2ndGenJonny
