Yeah silver is the way to go ... it's always clean and looks good... But after having a "Silver Mica Pearl" in 2006.... the new silver just don't cut it... Besides...I've had the Silver for 10 yrs... now the Best colour is Inferno.....!! Never got the "nice truck" from the public with the silver.... but it's all the time with the inferno..!!

I thought the 2nd gen silver was also "Silver Sky Metallic" were the 2nd gen tacos a different silver?!

I just bought my new Taco and its this color. I love everything about it except for that god awful grill!!! Looks like I'm going to find a Pro grill and move on. Love the truck!

Yes, the 2Gens were a lighter silver...Maybe it was Silver Streak Mica, can't remember......the new ones are a more grey/silver.

I went to the dealership looking to buy an MGM, came home with SSM and couldn't be happier. Blacked out the grill (not the bezel) and the other chromey bits (lame arse "chrome" plastic bumper caps) and it looks sweet. I'm glad I didn't go with MGM or black (both colors I really like) because of the maintenance involved in keeping those colors looking good. Also, here in Florida, any heat mitigation is welcomed.

I have to say though, I've seen good looking Taco's in every color.

I picked up this Silver 2017 Tacoma TRD Off Road on Thursday. I went to the dealership with the idea that I was going to order a truck to my liking. A problem that I encountered was that I couldn't really figure out what color that I really wanted. I have always liked dark navy blue or maroon colored vehicles but of course neither of these colors was an option. I thought that I totally disliked the silver color because I just thought that it was a blah looking color. When I was shown this silver truck it looked just right with the 3" lift and 32" Toyo Open Country tires mounted on black Fuel wheels. At first my thoughts were, "damn...why does this truck have to be silver of all colors?". I test drove a couple of trucks but kept coming back to the silver Taco. I decided on purchasing the truck and now I love the overall look of the truck and silver has grown on me in a big way over the past couple of days. So.....I now believe that it's the overall look of the truck and any color probably looks good in the right configuration. This Taco is going to take me on many fishing trips to Padre Island beaches and is ready to go after the rust proofing sets in the next day or two. I Love my new Taco!

Great looking truck! My last truck was silver, BBP now. I love the blue but trying to keep it looking clean is a pain. The silver is much easier which you'll enjoy.

I really wanted the dark grey or silver color when shopping for my truck.
I was just looking for a DC or AC SR5 at first.

The dealer happend to have an OR model that was only going to be 2-3 grand more than the plain jane truck I was looking for so I had to compromise on the color.

It does look sharp and its starting to grow on me, ive only had black vehicles in the past and red sure is easier to take care of than black so I call it a win.

Totally agree! I initially went to the dealer looking for black, but the silver caught my eye as well.

Barcelona Red is great. A guy here in town bought a access cab, TRD Sport 4X4 and the only thing keeping me from trading my black in for a red is my truck is paid off and I would hate having 5 years worth of bank notes again. I have been looking at them online though.

Nice truck and color. I think silver is the best color. My 06 sport was silver and after 11 years of ownership people were still giving me compliments on how nice it looked even though it was dirty as hell.

I started out looking for the red trucks too. I have to have a AC due to needing a wheelchair lift in the bed, but finding an AC OR in this area with the premium and tech packages left me with 2 color options.....white and silver. I love the silver! Looks great and easy to keep clean.
