Quick question, might not be feasible, so please let me know.

Can i run a 2nd battery (not connected to the factory battery in a traditional dual setup) hooked up to a solar charger (kind of like a trickle charger), and then just use it for rear lights/accessories? And put it in a battery box in the bed?

Yes. Might suck a little on a cloudy day though.

Checkout the CTEK-250S, it's super simple. @Crom has a great diagram in his build.

Im asking if i can use this setup without connecting to the main battery.. will it still work? Can the solar panel(s) charge a full size car battery?

    Mostly stuff I built.
Those spouts are pipe thread and you can easily screw pvc fittings into them. I have a pickup tube built for mine that works with my camp shower setup. Used a male threaded / female slip fitting with a smaller PVC pipe size glued into the wrong side of it for the pickup tube. Then adapted the female side of the threaded fitting to my shower set up with a short piece of pvc, a female slip/glue on fitting to female threaded fitting and a brass hose barb fitting. Just open the small vent and let it rip.

I was just thinking that there are no low bed storage options with a rack for an RTT. My issue with a normal height cap or a contractor cap with windoors, is that it puts the RTT too high.

This is a decent option, but I think the bars are too far spaced. Its not really for our application, but really, what is? hah. Also, probably not made for our trucks.

Agreed on the tube size. I gave away the first one I made to a buddy in need. My next one will have a slightly bigger tube for sure.

I ended up with the actual scepter one, it's a little better imo but it was also free. The nice thing about the diy version is you can break it down which is cool, so I keep my diy one in the bed cubby for just in case

Skip to 4:45 if you want to see the crazy part.

You never smell any fumes, doesn't leak, the nozzle is a push in easy to use and it clears the truck when you flip it upside down unlike some cans.

On the last trip I took the strap off of it (inside the topper) to take off something else, did some spirited driving and didn't realize it until i opened up the topper next. It flew all over, scratched some paint off but no fumes or leakage.

So, I finally got my sliders after almost three years of having a puckered butt every time I take my truck into the woods. I got the legs unwelded so I can mount the sliders the way I want.

I plan to turn them up about 10-degrees and mount them with the kickout sticking out just a little past the tires. For those of you with sliders, is there anything you wish you would have done that I should consider?

Depending on how often you plan on using them, I really like having mine at no angle. GF likes that it works as a step when wearing non practical shoes.

If you have a roof rack consider some expanded steel in the kickout hoop to keep you from slipping.

Yeah I've seen that and it's awesome.

Much better idea than my genius of linexing them lol. Stuff peels off if you ever hit rocks. Hard to patch.

    Oh well.
