Installed some apex fabworks fog light mounts with caliraised led spot lights, finally. I've only had them for about 8 months.

Yep AVS. I've had them on other vehicles. I'm satisfied. Gotta go with in-channel for sure. I got em off Amazon, as that was cheapest I found.

I had some on my last Tacoma, been meaning to get some for this one.
I had the back driver side fall out driving down the highway when I cracked the window!

If you can get to them with a Dremel you can cut a slot in them and use a screw driver to remove them. You can use a bolt extractor. You can drill them out, using a small drill bit and then stepping up gradually so you don't drill into the captive nut. Regardless of which method you choose, some heat will do wonders so if you have some MAPP gas heat the captive nut up before trying to remove what is left with the bolts.

Edit: Sometimes a picture helps to understand what might work best.

Possibly but that requires taking off my 200 lb bumper... Really trying to not do that haha. Thanks for the help!

Thanks! I'll try the dremel technique! And yeah I meant to snap a photo before I cleaned up.

Had AVS on my 2002 for 13 years. Stick on type. They lasted so well I went with AVS again for my 2015. Got the in channel this time. No problems. Great addition to the truck.

As others said, drill it and tap it. Or weld on another piece of hardware to it.

The short bed has always fit whatever I've needed.
Loaded it up last night with a bedroom set of furniture & drove across town.
All those hours playing Tetris paid off...

I had the same thing happen. I was able to get one of them out from the top by using vise grips. The other I had to drill out and use a tap to clean up the threads. If you go the drilling route my advice is to get the initial drill as close to center on the bolt as possible, and start smaller than the bit for the tap and work up to the right size. If you do it this way, you have a far better chance of getting the hole centered. I just had to use the tap to clean the old bolt threads out of the welded nut. After that I replaced all the skid plate bolts with 10.9 grade hardware (grade 8 metric equivalent).

@ChadsPride the speed with which my post traveled across the internet, you hit like, then it traveled back and notified me is mind boggling. Bravo, sir.
